Albuquerque teen falls to death near Las Vegas, N.M.

LAS VEGAS, N.M. (AP) - A 15-year-old Albuquerque girl slipped while climbing a cliff near Las Vegas and fell several hundred feet to her death.
State police said Kimberly Karlson and 14-year-old Mathew Cartee were climbing above the Montezuma skating pond when the accident occurred just before 10 a.m. Wednesday.
They said the boy was not able to reach her but made a cell phone call to his father, who called state police.
Volunteer firefighters from Las Vegas and Gallinas reached the boy, who was stuck on the cliffside. They helped him climb to safety.
He was not injured.

my friend is just devasated. Please pray that God will comfort her and she'll come to God. Thanks. And please pray for the boy also.
Father God, please bring comfort to this entire situation- to the girl's parents, her Godmother, and for the boy she was near when she fell. Lord, watch over today's youth during this summer, as they grow up in a world that says sure, you can do anything and be whoever you want to be- you just have to go for it. Help them not imagine themselves up a reality that is larger than life, and not riskier than need be.
