I don't have any idea about the inner workings of the record label companies, but all of the groups put out table projects. Intermission is a great project!

Some put out a lot less than others. Triumphant does one or two per year, while on the other hand (taking two other Daywind artists) the Mark Trammell Trio has done one table project in the last 3-4 years and the Perrys haven't done one that I can think of for 5+ years.

Are you talking about the Hits and Hymns Series. Weren't they released under the Daywind label?

Actually, that's why I put the + after the 5. Daywind did release Hits & Hymns, so we have to go even farther back than that for a table project, I believe.

Come to think of it, I'm not aware of a single Perrys table project since they signed with the Eddie Crook Company in 1983.

I can't speak for the whole group, but this is a great reason that we do not go through a record company. When we start talking about the "inner-workings" of a record label it sounds so "Shady". It seems like their all sitting around a table wondering who will sale the best, and Who they want to put their energy behind, and who paid them the most. I say, put out a sound project that the people will like. Don't get bogged down in Radio and Sales. Get serious about the Gospel, and how you can best spread it. Many groups have lost sight of that in order to see their CD at the Local Bookstore and their song at the #1 position. How Sad!! I will Shut-Up now. lol[:D]

I think it's great to hear an artist's view on this, Pat.

You're on a roll there, dixiebass1.

I agree that putting sales & fame before quality of ministry is a sad commentary...although I don't know what it's like to depend on a ministry for my family's living, so maybe some groups feel more compeled to push for financial success when you have that kind pressure on your group.
