You do realize you've made a public admission of some sort, don't you?

Because I'm me - loveable; quirky; fun to be with; fine; on my down days, I whimper - but that's not often, & on my up days I'm simply irresistable.

Because God will have put in his mind the desire to marry me and the conviction that He is blessing our union. We are all special and God has a plan for each one of us.

I am not fussy when it comes to eating food. I eat anything put in front of me. Every meal to me is a banquette. You will never hear me complaining about your cooking

Simply put, I am a God-fearing man and I understand I will have to answer to God for whether or not I love my wife the way Christ loves the church.

Right now I'm really questioning whether I ever will get married - as it's virtually impossible to find a man where I am not the spiritual leader.

Hey, Lisa. I think I heard something once about nothing being impossible with God. Do not be discouraged, okay?

Yeah, I know - but thanks for the reminder. Just when I thought someone had turned a corner, they, in fact, have not. Just very disappointing.

It's tough when you get your hopes up like that. *sigh*

God has been teaching me a lot about hope lately.

I've just got to be me - period. That's why someone should want to marry me.

Thank you Godhead...that's mighty kind of you to say. Not looking just yet though since I still have some healing and soul-searching to do.

I'd like to offer a word of encouragement to those who are discouraged about not being married.

Ps. 37:4 "Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart."

God is faithful to His promises and if you are delighting yourself in the Lord, He will eventually come through for you. The only time He doesn't give us the desire of our hearts is when that desire isn't the absolute best thing for us. Perhaps He is still working with you on some things you need to change before He brings that special someone into your life. I believe the Lord would rather have you struggle with the disappointment of being single for a while longer rather than allowing you to become one of the statistics we read about so often in these threads and this is a Christian Forum. Imagine what marriage is like in the world where God is out of the picture altogether. I'm one of those who rushed ahead of God's plan. I was no where near ready for marriage and I did not listen to those closest to me about all the red flags. I got married prematurely and I have paid dearly for it over the years. I would've accepted a longer period as a single person in a heartbeat if I knew then what I know now.

Someone once said "There are two great tradegies in life. One is to lose your heart's desire and the other is to gain it."

That's a good answer, Lisa.

You know, I don't have any expectation of getting married anymore. And that's Okay.

Lisa, I don't think that should be a reason to give up. Of course, one has to marry a believer, and the ideal is for the man to be the spiritual leader, but marriage is also about love and companionship. I've known couples where the husband wasn't the greatest spiritual leader, but they were happy, and I have also known couples where the husband didn't start as a great spiritual leader, but God grew Him into it. I don't know, it just seems to me if you find someone you love who is a christian, you shouldn't have to be alone forever just because of that.

I'm not giving up - just stating the issue for me that is vitally important. So, whoever marries me must be a strong leader. I'm am not your typical woman who desires to just get married and have children. I've never wanted to have them. God has such great things in store for me, so whoever I do marry must be willing to help guide me along with God. THAT is why I need a strong leader and cannot just settle for someone where I am stronger spiritually. It won't work. So until then, I just continue on with what God is doing in my life and continue to become the great woman of God He's making me to be. Some man will be blown away when the time comes, but they have to be ready for the ride of their life, as God never does things small with me.

Do you mean, more spiritual then you?
I have never met anyone more spiritual then me, except my Grandma, but she is in heaven now so, heavy is the head that wears the crown of life

I think she means that she would like to find someone who is willing to be the leader. I don't think it's a matter of one being "more spiritual" than another as long as they're on the same page spiritually.

That's just what I was gonna say, GNM. It's about going in the same direction and having an ability to take the lead. That has nothing to do really with who is "more spiritual", a term I happen to not be comfortable with. It's not a contest. It's a journey.
