Hmmm, I guess college wasn't necessarily expected of me because I was single, but that is what I believe my parents thought even if they never expounded on it. I've been to college twice. My first experience was in Central Christian College in Moberly, MO. It turned out awful because of the religious beliefs of the school. I thought I was going to a nondenominational school and it turned out that they were Church of Christ and to me rather cultish. The second experience I had with college was this last fall and it was at a secular school. The experience was good, but I couldn't afford to return...So I guess the financial aspect of being single and trying to attend college is also difficult when you don't have enough funding... Other than the school aspect...not much was pressured on me. I think the schooling was just a way to get me into the world, or so my parents thought. Many people don't realize the advantages of being single. We have the perfect opportunity to devote the whole of ourselves to His Kingdom and to what He wants and desires. To delve into a relationship with Him and that to me is MOST important... I am not going to lie and say, "Oh being single is just the greatest thing in the world." Because to me it isn't. But I can take advantage of the opportunity to get closer to my Maker, Jesus Christ.
