Hi. I'm 51 and live in NY. I've been married for a long time. I have 2 cats, Suzy & Squeaky. I am disabled and chronically/terminally ill. I have ben bed-ridden for past 3+ years. It does not get me down; I never get bored or lonely. I was so blessed to have Jesus in my life before I got sick (in 1989). He has helped me through every step of my life.
I used to work with autistic children. I also taught Sunday School at my church. I did a lot of volunteer work - I love to help people. After I got sick, I learned how to paint watercolors, successfully. When I could no longer hold a paintbrush, I learned how to be a photographer, of birds mostly. It's true that when one door closes, another one opens. Eventually I could no longer hold my equipment, so I had to give up photography.
I spend much of my time on the computer. I also read, but not as much as I used to be able to do. I am a happy person and wake up each morning feeling so peaceful. I treasure each day and all the people that are in my life. I spend a lot of time in prayer and reading the Bible. I strongly feel God's presence with me; I know I am not alone. I have nothing to be afraid of and so much to be thankful for.
