Yes, ours have had pics for many years.

I've had a wonderful visit with sil . . it was so great to sit in the backyard swing without melting from the heat or getting wet from the rain or humidity . . . I've gotten to do so little of that this spring -- in fact, virtually none except for the few minutes Garrett & I have spent out there.

Now I need to get busy . . thinking I need to do some yard work, but doubt that I get that ambitious. I'll do well to make it to the sewing room

Interesting Leah, I wonder if all the states will be going that way?

yeah, they will, Dee. It's a continent-wide--Canada, USA, Mexico. The system changed for us about a year ago.

The new licenses have more than a photo. They have a holograph and special other things to make them harder to counterfeit.

Linda, that's cool about the train.

IceQueen, where do you live that you've never seen snow? We have snow 6 or more months of the year where I live.

Got a bunch of yard work done afterall. Waited until 6:00, after Garrett left, then changed into old clothes and got started.

First I trimmed the honeysuckle that was threatening to block the pathway under the trellis; then trimmed the ivy that was threatening to take over the sidewalk; then pulled all the Virginia creeper from the trellis and out of the ivy bed because it was being eaten alive by a pesty bug. After that I pulled weeds around the rock garden under the arbor, and in & around my flower bed. I did all this either bending over or on my knees.

I was barely able to stand or walk or breathe after all this, but was very determined to make the best of my time out there and the great cool weather (tho I felt anything but cool by then!), so took our long-handled shears and trimmed the redbud trees that were hanging so low they were brushing our vehicles as we drove down our circle drive. There were a lot of dead limbs, and I had a tough time pulling them out of the trees.

By the time I finished all that, I really was barely able to get to the house and in the shower. I wouldn't dared have sat down first or I'd never have gotten up . . . I've got a big mess to clean up outside -- ivy & honeysuckle all over in the front, weeds around the flower beds, and limbs --some huge limbs -- out by the driveway. I'm so glad to get all this done. I've been so far behind on my yard work, what with all the rain & hot weather we've been having and being so busy with the remodeling.

Now I'm truly ready for bed. It seems like it's been a long day. I was so tired starting out this morning -- oh! When I got back from gym I discovered my first cup of coffee still sitting here on the computer desk with only a couple of sips out of it . . no wonder I was tired!

Thanks Maggie. I guess I'll have to have my paperwork in order then. I think our licenses already have a holograph on them.

I like your user name IceQueen, thanks for explaining. Yes, snow is beautiful. I love snow. We don't get near as much as Maggie does here in Kansas, but usually get a few good coverings a winter.

Does anyone know where Marsha is? I haven't seen her post for quite some time.

My youngest team lost both their baseball games last night. I went to the first one but came home after it was over. All the family goes to the games when they are at our high school. We chat with each other and visit. The kids play.

Supper for me was corn dogs, didn't feel like cooking. I was in bed when hubby and son got home so have no idea how they ate. My daughter's two boys stayed overnight. She's working day shift today. The youngest woke up in the night, he peed himself. Hubby was afraid he did it in his brand new recliner but it was dry this morning. I told him we had put the boy in a different bedding arrangement than his recliner and he said when he came home our grandson was in his recliner.

Thankfully I found something for my grandson to put on to replace his wet clothes. Our daughter was bringing by clothes for the boys this morning and I've noticed there is a bag of clothes on one of the chairs but I didn't have it last night. I need to keep a supply of clothing for them or at least a change of clothes for things like this.

Dear daughter shared with me she is officially the girlfriend of the new guy she is dating. They've decided not to date anyone else. His three boys have different reactions. The oldest is hesitant, the youngest couldn't care less (he holds daughter's hands and loves up to her), the middle one insists on calling her mom even after she suggested he call her by her first name. DD loves children and she says one thing she really likes about her new boyfriend is how good he is with his children.

He goes to a local church that I've attended before. I taught Sunday School in his church. I liked it but the church is larger than what I wanted for myself. There are 3 services to handle all the people and each service is large. He is a teacher at our high school and coaches football.

Good Thursday morning, everyone. Another cool, sunny morning here! I DO love spring! . . I know, I know it's almost summer, but we completely skipped spring, and if the weather wants to go back and pick it up, I'll enjoy every single minute of it!

Ginny, that's great that your daughter has found someone so dedicated to his family and church. I hope it works out for her -- she could use a break.

I've been outside cleaning up some of my mess from last night and pulling weeds around our front stoop -- missed that last night, so decided I better clean it up too. Our stoop is made of concrete blocks with sand in between. There are so many weeds take root between those blocks. Thankfully, we put black plastic under the sand so the roots don't usually go deep. I still managed to work up a sweat . . . You'd think I'd be used to that by now

I'm waiting for Garrett's daddy to call to ask me to come pick him up again. I've been doing that lately -- usually cuz I'm already in town at the gym and I call them to tell them they can drop him off there, but they suggest I finish the gym & pick him up at their house. The GF is home now getting ready to have her baby. She takes the other two kids to daycare, but guess she doesn't want to drive Garrett out here. I have been compliant since I live so close to town anyway, and I don't mind getting out in good weather. I won't be compliant in the winter, tho. Owell, from what the grandpa told me the other day, I likely won't have him much longer. They are trying to put him in daycare. I'm not convinced a daycare would take him, but we'll see.

I'm still searching for the birth certificate. I've asked the Lord to show me where I've put it . . . He's been very good to do that in the past

Good Thur. Morning Everyone

Sorry I was'ent able to post yesterday. Busy, busy, day I had here.
Started back with my neice's little girls. They sure can be a handful. The baby (born March 31st) has a tad of colic. Her mommy sent a sling to hold her with. I can't do that My back would'ent let me. So she had a bad morning here. But after her afternoon nap, she was a sweetheart. During nap-time I was able to get out to my big garden and weed some. I finished it up after they all left at 4PM. Like Leah..I did'ent want to, but it sure felt good when it was done. I just carry a five gallon bucket around with me, when I am pulling weeds. Then all the droppings are cleanned up right away. Still have some weeding to do behind the house today. I did the front yard two days ago.

The repair man came yesterday to fix a switch in my fridge. My water did'ent work in it. Well it still does'ent work. Seems ithe tube froze up because that switch was'ent working..thus no water traveled through the tube for about a month now. Repair man did'ent want to take the whole door apart to get to that tube. So here I sit trying to defrost the little tube. It's inside the freezer door. This morning I left the whole freezer door open. And I'm takeing a hair dryer to it. He also showed me how to put a wire inside the tubeing and keep pushing it up. What a mess
After I get that done and paid for..I need him back to fix my leaky washer. Don't they say it always goes in THREE'S? Well it started with my weed eater. So I guess the washer was my number THREE. I should be safe now

Gonna go strawberry picking with my daughter and granddaughter this Sat. We will see how them berries are this year. I think it was to wet around here for good berries tho.

BTW..Ginny, I always keep an extra set of clothing around for the grandkids. Ethan like's to get real dirty when he is here.

Well back to this freezer.......

We sure are Cassandra!

Happy Birthday to Sleeping Beauty.

Barb and Leah, I need to get out and weed my front flower bed. Have trees sprouting up from the maple seeds that so abundant when they come down. They are real hard to pull up once they take root.

Supper is on fixing ranch chicken, buttered noodles and peas. My grandson asked for some canned macaroni and noodles so I did that for him now it is sitting on the dining room table uneaten as he changed his mind. I don't have enough chicken to share with my daughter and her family.

Oh gs came into the office and his face is covered with food from the dish I prepared for him so I guess he decided to eat it after all. Sometimes it's best not to make a fuzz about eating.

God, I thank you for Cassandra's faith in you and her love for her uncle. Please protect this uncle while he undergoes surgery and during his recovery. Thank you, Lord.

Ginny, kids are fickle. They say one thing one minute and something different a bit later. Good for you for just leaving the food there and not making a big deal about it.

Good Friday Morning Everyone

Cass, praying for you Uncle.

Woke up to a sunny 72 degree's this morning. So pretty out there
Have ALL my weeding done. What a nice feeling. Have a bush on the side of my house that looked pretty dead. So I got the saw and a small ax out there. Goodness..how can men use them things?! I never hit the same spot with that small ax, and the saw went in..but I could'ent get it out very well. I did manage to get them two dead branches cut off tho. Was sweating pretty good after it was done. And them branches were not that big even.
Thought aboud starting up the chain saw, but I have never used one before. And I was all alone. Did'ent want to cut a finger off or something.
Did you know they made smaller chain saw's? Wonder if they are for the ladies. Would'ent a cute little pink on be cool? LOL

Hubby wants to go to a wedding this Sat. night. I don't even know these people. Guess my husband knows the dad to the soon to be groom. I don't like going to gatherings when I don't know the folks. But I guess we will make a small apperance, and hopefully not stay long. You get my husband in a room with farmers, and he forgets about me, and talks farm crops all night with them. What crops are already planted, and what crops are not doing well. Then they start talking about the weather, and the cow production. And how many milking cows all the farms have now...ect. Boreing
I wanted to go out to dinner once. My sister got us a gift card, to a nice restaurant, and a movie pass, for out Anniversary. I wanted to use them once. Hubby said we could go out to eat, then go to this wedding. I know how I will be rushed to eat, so we can get to the wedding.

I have three little ones this morning. Finally got the baby to sleep, and the two year olds are watching TV. Isabelle will be here around 11AM. So it's a full day. I was waiting on the other family to come back. Was suppose to start them on Monday. But I called, and the mom told me she got her neighbor to watch the two kids insted. How rude..I held the spot open while she was on her maternity leave. And I have had her oldest child for three years now! So I'm gonna have to fill that spot I guess.

Cassandra, my father (78 years old) has had this done twice, plus four arteries once. It's now considered fairly routine. That doesn't mean it isn't risky. Anything dealing with the heart is. But it's not as dangerous as it used to be. Hopefully that gives you a little reassurance.

A pink chainsaw???

LOL Barb!! Too funny . . . I hate chainsaws, but if I saw a pink one, I just might have to try it out! . . . . but man I know what you mean about the saw and the axe! I never CAN hit the same place twice with one of those and I can't tell you how many hand saws Bill has had to tug out of wood for me . . . now my elbow wouldn't let me tug on it at all, I'm afraid. Well, the tugging isn't so bad, it's the pushing it back thru that always got me -- makes my elbow hurt just thinking about it

And yes, that was rude of her not to let you know about finding someone else -- sheesh! Maybe you shoudl start requiring a deposit to hold spots open like that -- enough that it would make them think twice about standing you up -- like maybe half the money you would be making if you'd filled the spot right away.

Glad you got all your weeding done. I accomplished quite a lot of it. I don't think it's ever all done around here, but things sure look a lot better. Bill did some more trimming with the push mower while I was trimming the trees the other night, so the yard looks pretty good. Haven't been outside to work today tho. Besides the fact that we got heavy rain last night and everything is wet, Garrett & I had other things to d.

We went to the county seat today to get my birth certificate, since I now need that to renew my driver's license which are due on my birthday. Also had to get John's since he seems to have misplaced his. Then, while we were in this quaint little town right near where I grew up I decided we'd make the most of the day and go to the beautiful littel park with the spring-fed duck pond. The ducks were all over the place, and we nearly stepped on an egg one of them had lalid right out in the middle of the park. It was still warm, so tho I let Garrett pick it up and hold it a minute, I then placed it back where I found it. I should have taken it across teh pond and put it in one of their nests, but I couldn't manage that with Garrett. After that, we went to have ice cream and ran into Bill working on the juke box there, so we got to say hi to him. Garrett draws attention whereever he goes . . he's got the prettiest eyes & eyelashes, and is always sporting a big smile, so ppl just want to talk with him.

When we finally got back to town, around 11:00, I stopped at the gym, changed clothes and let Garrett play in the play room for about 30 minutes or so while I did a short workout. When I finally got home he was exhausted, so I changed him and put him right to bed. There was very little playing from him this time before he fell fast asleep. Then I decided to join him . . now I'm somewhat refreshed and will try to do a little sewing while he's sleeping.

Dee, I loved the pictures of Sleeping Beauty's birthday. The cake looks yummy! And your daughter is beautiful. It was really nice of you to give a birthday party for her favorite stuffed animal.

Barb, I agree with you it was rude of her to not contact you of her plans to use her neighbor instead. And I agree with Leah about in the future asking for a deposit at least that way you income is offset a little if they decide not to come back.

I haven't tacked my weeding project yet. Guess I'd better be doing that before the heat of summer comes and the ground gets harder and the weather hotter. We have bushes on one of the sides of our yard the neighbor put up as a border to hers. She doesn't trim them and they have gone wild taking up a lot of our space. It is not a project I will do when I have a 15 year old who is capable of doing it. Just have to find a time when he can.

Barb, the wedding would be boring to me too. I do hope you'll get to enjoy your meal out. When will you be able to use the movie tickets?

Leah, you are going to miss your little boy when he goes to daycare. He's a delight. Congratulations to you and Barb on all the yard work you two have accomplished.

I had two walk-ins today. One was new; the other I've seen before and registered her for fall classes. I am getting faster at speaking to new people have all the information down pat and know exactly what I am doing.

I am working on a couple of things at a time. Going through the filing, setting up new files, putting away what doesn't need a file cause already have one. Shredding information I don't need. And as I go straightening out the data on my hard drive. It's very slow at work. I've gotten used to seeing a lot of people and doing work now I'm not seeing as many and it feels slow to me. As I've done in the past when it's slower I will work on things that will help me when the pace quickens.

My work study wasn't too thrilled I had work for him to do. He is taking 3 classes this summer and has tons of homework. I think he wanted to do that instead. Which is ok when I don't have work for him to do but I did. If it was a test I could understand but he just wanted to get homework done.

I had him insert a label in our nursing brochures that gives the new admission criteria. Yes there were a lot of brochures to do. Then I assigned him the data entry of the forms I do when I get an inquiry into the program recording which program they wanted information on, who they were, address, etc. and date I mailed an application packet. And then he did some simpling filing into student's files. Work that freed me up to work on other goals I have in what I want to get done.

The guys are at a baseball tournament tonight. It's close enough hubby said he is driving home instead of staying in a hotel. I want to work on my kitchen. It really needs a good cleaning. And with the quiet I want to do a bible study on Romans. I've already read my bible reading assignment this morning from my RTB group. Reading in Job I am learning that Job was righteous yet he complained and he also trusted God but indeed he did complain while he suffered. Those friends of his have taught me a thing or two too, how not to help a suffering person.

When is/was the surgery Cassandra?

Why not a pink chain saw Bill?

Hi Maggie!

I agree Barb, not letting you know about the babysitting plans changing was just wrong. I hope you get the slot filled soon.

Thanks Ginny! R calls her stuffed animals her little sisters and brothers. They are her favorite toys. You sound very busy. I'm glad you had work for your workstudy person; that is what is is there for. From the sound of your posts you are very good at your job.

Leah, that's good you could get your birth cert somewhat locally. We have to order ours from Topeka. Y'all are reminding me that I have weeding to do.

How is your uncle doing?

Hi Maggie! How are you doing? Have you walked around the block again?

Thanks Dee, your words gave me encouragement.

I talked with my sister last night and she might make her way over here to our thread. We'll see.

My grand nephew is now weighing 2 pounds, 15 ounces. Hooray! He does have a lung infection but he's gaining weight and is a fighter. My sister sent me pics I've forwarded to Leah and Maggie. I don't know how to upload them here for you all to see.

My niece is in her 30's and has a struggle with her kidneys. Her son, DE (initials of his name) is probably the only child she will have.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed for DE's health.

Ginny
