But I don't want the on-line version! It does nothing for me. [:D]

I know what you mean, brother! lol

When the online version is available a couple of weeks before my print copy arrives, though, I have this overwhelming desire to look at it anyway. As a result, I hardly look at the print copy when it finally shows up.

That's where we differ. The fact that it is currently available on line does not stir me at all. I'm perfectly content to wait another week or so until my hard copy arrives in the mail, wrestle it away from my son, and sink my teeth into it, metaphorically speaking of course.

What can I say? I'm a traditionalist about some things, and magazines are one of those things.

I agree. I think you should request that as a poll question, Jeff. Good idea. Might be too soon yet, though, for anyone to really know. I KNOW I want the hardcopy! Computer screens are hard on my eyes.[:@][&:]

Seaton -> RE: July - Singing News (6/17/2008 7:31:18 AM)

I like the option of having both the online and printed versions. It is nice being able to view the new edition by the 15th of the month.

I agree with you Seaton. I like to preview the issue on line to get an idea what's in it. Then I really like to sit down and digest the printed issue when I receive it in the mail. If there's an article you just want to read you can read it on line.

Tina, that is a good point. I have noticed that the more I use computers (and as a police dispatcher I have several computers that I use at work), the worse my eyesight is.

robertyork -> RE: July - Singing News (6/17/2008 1:49:02 PM)

Received printed edition in the mail today.

L5FanLady -> RE: July - Singing News (6/17/2008 4:25:18 PM)

I'm still waiting for mine.

I hope I get August's issue seeing as I am moving in July and all that red tape that goes into that. Seems they don't forward periodicals (isn't that what the SN is?)

Seaton -> RE: July - Singing News (6/17/2008 5:16:51 PM)

I am hoping they will get the online version up soon.

hopperfan -> RE: July - Singing News (6/17/2008 9:36:03 PM)

Still waiting on mine, I am hoping that it will be here by the weekend.

GVfan -> RE: July - Singing News (6/18/2008 6:27:03 AM)

I got mine yesterday. I still think I should be able to access it on-line as soon as the copies are put in the mail, though!!!!

Dinana -> RE: July - Singing News (6/18/2008 6:48:00 AM)

I got mine, too, and was shocked that it was so early!!!

robertyork -> RE: July - Singing News (6/18/2008 7:28:06 AM)

Could be the person that does the download process is on vacation and no one else has the time to set up the download.

danielmount -> RE: July - Singing News (6/18/2008 7:40:59 AM)

I haven't gotten mine in the mail yet.

Qtman -> RE: July - Singing News (6/18/2008 8:44:31 AM)

brian.franklin -> RE: July - Singing News (6/18/2008 4:39:38 PM)

The July issue in PDF format has been uploaded and is available for download for SN subscribers. I've read what has been posted earlier, and just wanted to remind everyone that the 15th is not a hard and fast date for the PDF to be uploaded. If you'll note on our home page, it states that the new issue of the magazine will be available for download "around the 15th of the month".

Since the online version includes the "International" section not found in the print edition, there can be factors that cause the download not to be available exactly on the 15th of the month. That section has to be assembled, edited, proofed, etc...

With this months issue, we redid the table of contents just for the digitial edition so that all the numbers of pages in the PDF match up with the table of contents. We realized that after inserting the International section that the page numbers after that section did not match with the print versions table of contents.

We constantly try to improve the magazine as well as our internet presence, and we appreciate your feedback and comments.

Lucky you QTman....the only thing in my mailbox today was "devil mail" (bills) no Singing News. We did get a catelog with the latest nursing uniform styles for my wife...there goes several bucks lol. Wait...she's out of town for three days visiting her father...nothing in my mailbox today but bills hehehe

zmanfan38 -> RE: July - Singing News (6/18/2008 7:19:41 PM)

I got mine today...yay!

It looks a little beat up, but it's here.

BBfan -> RE: July - Singing News (6/18/2008 7:44:41 PM)

Haven't gotten mine yet...

L5FanLady -> RE: July - Singing News (6/18/2008 8:59:43 PM)

I got mine today too![:D]

Smokymtnsanta -> RE: July - Singing News (6/18/2008 9:58:10 PM)

My SN mag arrived today also.

zmanfan38 -> RE: July - Singing News (6/18/2008 10:12:47 PM)

Santa, is yours in good condition?

The inside of mine is fine, but the front cover is pretty scuffed up and bent up. Just wondering.

Confession time.[sm=blush.gif]

I was really looking forward to this one getting here because I wanted to vote for the fan awards online a few days ago and could not find a magazine anywhere in my house. I have never thought to write my account number down, so I couldn't log in.

We've been clearing our house of a lot of things getting ready to put it on the market and I've thrown out all old magazines.[8D]
