The sentence is poorly constructed, but the meaning is that the two met in 1985. The ages are their CURRENT ages, not what they were in 1985.

If you don’t like his politics say you don’t like his politics. If you don’t like the issues he stand for say you don’t like his issues. Why make up stuff like this to scare the folks into believing that Senator Obama is something that he’s not? This is the type of fear tactics that people have bought into. It has been out for more than a year that Senator Obama is not a Muslim, but because of his name, his background and the fact that people are scared to death of the big bad terrorists there are those who have governed themselves by fear instead of faith and common sense. Some call it being watchful, it’s more like being scared to death and God did not give us a spirit of fear. Me possibly not voting for Senator Obama is based on his politics, not because of wild speculations that he is some sort of Islamic Manchurian Candidate. Give that rubbish a break. It’s about Issues not conspiracy theory. Put the tin foil hat away. [:D]

I do not like his polotics, and do not say he is a muslim, but, I do not say he is a Christian. I say that because he believes in things the Bible speaks against. Obama has much respect for Farakan, that man is the devil, and he associates with friends that are Muslim, and terrorist. I think it is cause for concern. Does this not bother any of you, who do like him, or are going to vote for him? This is a serious question, not geared toward for an argument. I think it is great that a black man has a chance to be president, I just wish it was not him.[:)]

I don't like his politics. I don't like his stance on issues. That said, why shouldn't we be "scared to death of the big bad terrorists?" Did you not see the bombing of the Cole, the first attack on the World Trade Center, the 2001 attack on the World Trade Center, the 2001 attack on the Pentagon, the bombings in Britain and Spain? True, God did not give us the spirit of fear, but neither does he expect us to sit back and be destroyed because of the way you choose to parse words and scripture. I have not read in the article either anything that says that Obama is a Muslim. I know that what I'm going to say is going to offend, but if he was a Muslim, big deal. There is no law in the United States code that requires anyone serving a public office to be a Christian. I do know that when he calls himself a Christian, I don't believe it. You can't call yourself a Christian and believe its okay to murder millions upon millions of unborn babies. You can't be a Christian and support gay marriage. When I vote however, I don't look at their religious backgrounds. We've had "Christians" in office and look at jobs they've done as President....(i.e. GW Bush)

I really do not think articles like this one help at all. His brother does not even really know him. [&:] I do not think BO is a Muslim, but he sure is much closer to their camp than the Christian community. That belief is bolstered by his past behaviors, not the article. <edited to correct redundant wording>
