Acknowledging a "Muslim background" is not the same as saying "being raised Muslim." I have a Catholic background, in that my father and most of my extended releatives on his side were Catholic, but I was raised Lutheran. The brother talks about How Obama's father was Muslim, but, again, he states quite clearly that he is Christian. He never says that we was raised Muslim (And Obama wasn't raised by his father anyway, given that his mother divorced him when he was 2).

After what just happened in California (the gay marriage disaster), it doesn't seem to matter what the people want. A judge, or judges, can overturn voters' decisions and execute their own agendas. Greetings, I appreciate the in input, Muslim are agnostic to begin with and if that is what he wrote it is rather contradicting, how can a Muslim be an atheist? I mean there are many atheists who treat their wives better than some Christians I know and in like manner there are those who do not, but that kind of stuff holds no barriers, and I tend to look at the spiritual sides which maintain itself the same in either scenario, But beyond the typical political lies, I can see it in their eyes when something is hidden, its the same demon or 2� just different folks! Hypothetically! We have to keep in mind that even though there are those who are attempting to undermine the structure of American Law and Justice� it is still based firmly in scripture, in other words there is a built in error checking of a sort�.and even if some political sleeper rises up or is $$ up in the system and goes to takes it on by imploring rhetoric from the old gods, It will expose a type of fear, and If I was a dog and I sensed a bit of fear, I would have by now bitten BO in the pants at least 3 times. ��.Whatever it is that is hidden will be revealed in the next months and I am actually looking forward to the rhetoric in this election prophecy wise; (because Islam has a certain way) even more than the other elections and McCain is no dummy to Islam. BUT His mother divorced his father for some reason , and if he was not holding to the traditions of the way Muslims treat women then he would be in part IMO an atheist� but if she divorced him because he did, then he was Muslim. Well his pst is the past, it is his present beliefs that scare me more. He would make a better Muslim, than Christian easier to wrap head around for me, with his beliefs and such. Did anyone hear he would not let Muslim women with head scarfs on in his campaign photo. Muslims are mad at him.

And when he was here in NC, they had to go out to find white people to be seen at his speech. One of the reported frontrunners on McCain's list of VP hopefuls is Piyush Jindal, born a Hindu, parents still Hindu, originally from Punjab Province Pakistan. The primary religion of Punjab is....Islam. In addition, while Obama's daddy's country, Kenya, is primarily known for exporting long distance runners, Punjab is a known hangout for Al-qaeda and the Taliban. Bin Laden reportedly made one of his famous videos there. Don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself. Piyush tried to hide his Hindu (or is it Muslim, the primary religion of Punjab) and Taliban - err..Punjab background at an early age. He changed his name to "Bobby" and converted to Roman Catholicism. There is documented evidence that he participated in an exorcism while in school. Who documented the evidence? Piyush did himself. Go ahead. Bring up Rev. Wright again. But Piyush is 100 percent pro-life. That means some of you wouldn't care if he showed up side by side with McCain at the convention wearing a turban and strapped down with more explosives than Wile E. Coyote after an Acme buy-one-get-one-free sale. So when, I didn't say if, but when, McCain picks this guy (Rush and Newt's favorite), who, by the way, is only 36 years old, maybe then we can get back to talking about real issues that matter. He could have instead changed it to something more "American" like "Bobby" so as not to scare all the knuckle draggers who think you can tell a muslim terrorist simply by the way he looks and how American his name sounds. Throw enough mud to make them look "dirty". It's childish but then if it wasn't so effective they wouldn't do it. Al-Queda is vehemently against abortion! This makes them pro-life! [8\|] That suicide bombing issue though is a problem. If Islam is against abortion (although I thought Christianity was too) then maybe it would be better if he were a Muslim. There are way too many "Christians" that are "pro-death" in this country. Pre-birth and post birth!

Thsnks RC So what are lies we're talking about here? He's written about having attended school in Indonesia. Public school which was predominantly muslim and like most of the other schools had religious instruction. It's Indonesia - that's normal. This issue has already been vetted out by snopes.com, CNN, etc. Yes, his parents registered him at public school as a muslim - islamic heritage is culturally traced down through the patriline. It would have been normal for a child of a muslim father to be registered as a muslim, particularly if your family's attachment to any one particular faith was loose at best. He also attended Catholic school during the 4 or 5 years he was there. That wouldn't seem to me to qualify as having been "raised a muslim". Overall I think this all just demonstrates his family's ambivalence toward religion that he wrote about.
