so our band Terrestrial Harvest has been around for a long time, actually - it's just that there was about a 2 year gap between the departure of the original vocalist and my joining. Then things seemed to progress nicely for awhile with everyone showing up for practices regularly - I had to learn some of the preexisting material in preparation for shows and recording.

Two members had other commitments in other bands, one left (our bass player committed completely to the other project) and one stayed and took on MORE commitment (our lead guitarist joined one more band to bring his membership total up to three groups, he's a machine, we wonder if he ever sleeps). Our drummer has intermittent issues with family commitments and back problems that almost made us look for someone else but as of our last practice, he seemed revitalized and recharged as a player and as a team member.

Due to the member issues and seeming lack of momentum in this band - despite the burden on our hearts for the lost out there - and the doors the Lord has opened, the things He has done - a lot of people look at this project as a hobby and not a serious thing.

But Joe, Dave and myself are all deadly serious with the potential mission of this group to use music for the glory of the Lord. Our first time ever playing as a band (since I joined) was leading worship at a small church service. We have had only 2 shows since then, one at a coffeehouse and the other was a 12 noon slot on the Sanctuary stage at the first ever Cornerstone California.

We have recently finished the recording project began in October for our 2nd CD (first recording with me in the band though) and are just waiting to get the final mixes completed to move forward with preparing packaging and everything for the finished product.

As an example of one way in which God has blessed this band, dig this small miracle:

one of the truly NEW songs on this recording (that did not exist in another structural format previously as most of the tracks had) called 'Reason To Live' - the lyrics were written ON THE DAY OF MY AUDITION before I EVER HEARD THE MUSIC THEY WENT TO and it was a literally perfect fit with no changes needed for the vocal line to complement the music. I was just reading a tract while hanging out with my family that day, and got inspired - started writing, and decided to bring it along with me as an example of my potential for contribution. Little did I know what was in store. This song is currently set to play first on our MySpace profile and has gotten some positive response from visitors to our page. Here's what God gave me to sing that day, and what they are hearing:

spoken at end, paraphrase of Acts 2:20-21: the sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before that great and powerful day of the Lord come, and it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved...

We want to just get out there and play and be used by the Lord however He sees fit to do so.

I am sharing this because I feel the time has come to seriously seek prayer partners for this work. I believe there is a massive spiritual battle underway to undermine our band before we even get going with regular shows. it certainly has been difficult to keep a positive outlook at times, then I remember when God has shown Himself strong in the midst of it all. but prayer is SO important.

so if it is on your heart to do so, having read a few of the details, please keep Terrestrial Harvest in your prayers.

Specifically, we need our drummer to be encouraged and strengthened physically for the demands of regularly playing aggressively, and we need a committed bassist who is on the same page with us in every way - spiritually, musically, etc. Lord willing, regular practices, new songs, opportunities, etc. will surely follow as soon as the band has a solid lineup. And of course, just a general covering of prayer for all of us involved and our families (me, Joe, Dave and Tighe)

Father, here is Danelle.

He could have advertised anywhere, but why this specific prayer thread?... I don't think his heart is to advertise... I truly believe that he wants your will for this band and for the incredible talent that you have poured into each of it's members. You have definitely given them skills. And Danelle has asked that you help them to commit them to you, we agree with that prayer. In the name of Jesus.

Father, there is a culture in the thrash metal world that is dying without you. This band wants to go to the heart of their worship and to open their eyes to true worship -- worship of Jesus Christ. We ask that you would help them to do that. Bring members into the band that will commit to that, or move upon the members already in it and equip them in every way to accomplish what you have called them to do. Guard their hearts, give them clarity, protect them from deception and at the same time, protect them from doubting the call that you have placed in their hearts. Only they know what you have spoken to them and told them to do. We ask now that you make the way plain, and that you lead them to walk in it according to your perfect will.

Heal their band members either way. Sickness is not of you Lord. Reveal yourself to each of them as individuals in extreme and life-changing ways, and as a band. Make their walk solid so that they will remain strong as they enter into those places of great darkness. Send voices of accountability into their lives, and give them humble hearts to yield to the Truth of your word spoken thru any and all voices that you place in their lives to guard them. Open doors for this band, miraculously, as they commit their talents to serving you and to fulfilling the purpose that you have called them to. Use them to free the captives, those bound to addiction and darkness in the Thrash Metal scene. Make their voice and their message and their music and their walk CLEAR AND NOT UNCERTAIN

Bless Danelle Father, for seeking a covering from your people. Keep that wisdom in his heart and mind and let it increase to crazy measures. Hear his prayer, honor the desires of his heart, keep him from turning to the left or the right, keep his heart focused on you, and use him to glorify your name. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

I think that sometimes when there is a laboring as you have described in the band coming together, that God is trying to stress something. I think your request for prayers is key. Perhaps God is saying that your band and the individual members that will make it up... must acknowledge the darkness you are warring against and that you will not prevail unless Christ and conversing with him consistently is a set-in-stone discipline as the foundation of the band (which he is apparently speaking to you as well).

Also, just me thinking again... but the phrase MAKE IT SURE, MAKE IT CERTAIN was ringing in my heart as I was praying for you guys. I think God is wanting you to set some safeguards/consistencies in place... because he is going to use you in powerful ways. Way beyond what you have already experienced, things that will blow your mind. And you've got to be ready to war as Timothy warred. Going into battle as unshakable, focused on the goal and the one who will ensure victory. Jesus Christ.

Father, we continue to pray for this group of believers. Give them direction and boldness to follow the calling that you have placed in their hearts. Put this band together and anoint them in such a way that pleases you, and use them to bring great glory to God. Speak to each of them as individuals and bind them together as a band, bind them together by your love. Give them CLARITY in what they should do and what they should not do, what they should say and what they should remain silent about. Help them to know what to accept as from God and what to shun as temptation. Open doors for them that will keep them in your perfect will, and close every door that will hinder their progress and the ministry that is in their heart to share with those living in the thrash metal scene. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
