I don't know what you are referring to about the Elizabeth Hasselbeck thing.

But anyway...I love Barry Manilow! I was able to see him in concert once in the '90s, and that man is a true professional. He was performing outside at the state fair in about 100 degree weather and about 100% humidity (okay, maybe I'm exaggerating slightly, but not much!) and still gave it his all. I think he is one of those people who just loves performing so much that he would do it even if he did not become the superstar that he became. I could see him just performing in sleezy bars his whole life if it was a choice between performing and doing some other kind of work.

I especially love his big band CD, Swingin' with the Big Bands. But also most of the classic Manilow songs, especially "Copacabana"! I love a song that tells an interesting story, even though it is really quite a sad story.

Yes, I knew that. When I tried telling someone once, they didn't believe me! If you check one of those Billboard chart books, they actually have a footnote on it. Originally it was called Brandy instead. When Barry went to record it, the label had him change it because of the popular song Brandy (Your A Fine Girl) by Looking Glass instead.

I'm trying to replay in my mind how Mandy went and all I keep coming up with are the words to Mandy but the tune I keep coming up with is Sandy from the movie Grease! LOL!!

I know the lyrics, but I could use a sample of the music. I wasn't that big of a Manilow fan. Maybe that's why I don't remember the tune....
