I am from Kansas where crops are grown on large flat sections of land and harvested by large combines.

I live in East Tennessee, where corn is grown in the mountains on rocky hillsides and rendered into liquid for easy transport and sale.

Mrs. K loves shrimp.

I like it, but it's a little furhter down my list.

Oh...give me a plateful of Calabash style popcorn shrimp and I'm in seafood heaven...of couse that would include a side of flounder with fries, coleslaw and hushpuppies...oh don't forget the sweet tea to wash it down with!!! Okay...I'm officially hungry now. Thanks...it's too late to be eating anything right now. Maybe when hubby returns from working in VA I can talk him into taking me out to a seafood place for some good shrimp!!!!

You mean that "Recipe" that the Baldwin sisters used to make on the Waltons TV show?

"life changing upheavals"---------all good stuff, just changes. Getting ready to send one son off to college out of state, and the youngest to local college and preparing for his high school graduation (he'll be doing concurrent enrollment this year)...and he's my BABY!!! Added responsibilities at work, and finding just the right program to begin my education after the first of the year. Which reminds me---what have you found so far for a nutritional program?

I still like the idea of you and I being on campus together and starting our own sorority. That just sounds like fun!!!!
Mona, I'm glad all the life changing upheavals are good things. Sounds like you have a LOT going on right now.
And I'm sure that your baby making preparations to leave the nest is a big thing for you in the middle of everything else.

As for me, I put the nutritional schooling on hold for a while . . . I need to take care of some other things first. But I haven't forgotten about it . . . and in fact, was thinking the other day how fun it would be for you and I to be cahoots together with something like this! Ya never know what the future holds . . .

I was going to say hey to y'all.

But now I think I'll say goodnight to y'all instead . . . it's waaaayyy past my bedtime.

Yep that's the one. I use to live on a farm in Franklin County, VA that had a history of "recipe" makers hiding the cooking apparatus on the outskirts of the property. None while we lived there thank goodness.
No Kerr...I didn't make any of the "Recipe" myself!!!

You know the "Waltons" were not from Franklin County but it has been called the "recipe" capitol of the world!!! Don't know if that's so or not but it does have a very hum...interesting history!

Mark I have a question for you. I have been told that there is a third movie to go along with Fly Wheel & Facing The Giants. I would like to buy it if it would be good for teenagers. Do you know what the name could be?

Have a McKays in Chattanooga been there several times and bought used Cds at a real good price. I like Louis Lamour books and they will usually have one I don't have. Which isn't too hard with all the books he's wrote.

During my long-past misspent youth, I collected 150 books by Louis L'Amour. Since he wrote 104 (I think) books, many of mine were duplicates. I would stay up late during my teen years and read one book each night, getting only a couple of hours sleep and going to school all groggy because I had been lost in the old west....

Later, just before one of our many moves courtesy of Uncle Sam, I sold all but one of them to a used book store in Pensacola for .50 each. The only one I kept was a copy of "Hondo" that I bought for .10 when I was just 10 years old. I still have that one somewhere.

Hi Ruth, how are you feeling tonight?

If I remember correctly, the next movie from Sherwood Pictures is called "Fireproof," and will hit theatres at the end of September. It will not be out on DVD until early next year, I suspect.

I have had good luck with useing the other two in BIBLE school the last two years. I will want to see the new one when it comes out. It is hard to find DVD's that are good with teens. If you have any ideas of good DVD's to use with the teens, please, let me know.

I'd have to count but I believe I have 30 or 40 right now. I have quite a few of the Sackett series. He was the cleanest western writer out there and his descriptions of the scenery made me feel like I was right there.

Hi singLOUD! You thought of me? Too cool.

Thanks for the link! There's someone else around these boards who either went to school there or lives near who told me about the lions. I'm going to enjoy watching them do their lion thing, which probably involves a lot of lion around.

And I appreciate that you quoted me saying my favorite thing.

Blessings!

Just checking in to say I am tired. Mrs. K and I are continuing our "at home" labor, catching up on things that we have let go. Today I worked hard on the garage (one load to Habitat For Humanity Thrift Store and one load to the dump) while Cindy worked on preparing for a visit from the son and grandkids.
