Me neither. That's why I cook my fish with George.

My fish and salmon still "stick" to my George, even when I use cooking spray. Do you have any helpful suggestions for me?

Okay. Next week, I'll plan to spend some evenings with George. I'll keep y'all updated.

Hey, dude! Are you teasing me or are you serious???? BTW, I use Olive Oil cooking spray. Do you think that makes any difference?

Too hot? Too long? Maybe spray 'em like Dude said or give them a thin layer of oil before you put them on?

It works when we do it. Spray the non-stick stuff on the fish. Kinda get away from it so the force from the spray doesn't damage the fish, and spray it also. At least that's what works for us.

Hmmm. Olive oil burns faster (there's a name for this but I don't know what it is) so that could have something to do with it. Maybe.

Since I can't regulate the temperature, I'll try spraying the fish/salmon and see what happens. Thanks for the idea, y'all!

I didn't see the addition when I quoted ya. But using olive oil is probably the reason. Butter is better.

I bought some frozen fish last night and the box said to put them in tin foil to grill them. Haven't tried them yet!!!

Donna,
That's my gripe with George. The Aroma health grill has temp controls, which is big plus as to why I love it

Yes, I have found that spraying (or rubbing/drizzling your choice of oil) the items you are cooking works much better than spraying the pan itself.....

I don't know about anyone else, but "wet" fish just doesn't sound very appetizing to me!
But Donna, fish have to be wet; they swim in water.

Well thanks, James!

And not that I'm complaining (cuz I'm not) . . . but to what do I deserve such an honor?

"Smoke point" . . . (I think).

Unfortunately, that is a big no-no when you're living with a cardiac convalescent!

Thanks, everyone. I think I'll try rubbing olive oil on the fish. If that still doesn't work, guess I'll just have to go back to the oven! Or get used to some of the fish staying on the grill!

You're Sharon-Marie! You didn't need to do anything!

(But the offer of a non-stick cooking device whenever you got one didn't hurt a bit.)

And it's been forever since I hugged ya...

OH WISE COUNSELOR KERRLAW,

My relationship with George is just not doing well. He's been in my pantry since Christmas, lonely I'm sure, wondering why I am not attracted to him.

He's just not doing it for me.

He doesn't even come to my thoughts.

Every evening as I prepare meals for the family, George is far from my mind.

Just what am I supposed to cook in Mr. George, anyway???? Do you have a Mr. George?

Here's the story. My in-laws gave us a George Foreman many years ago. I'm not interested in keeping items I have no need for, so we returned it to the store.

About a year later, my FIL asked me if we had a George. I said we did , you gave it to us, but we returned it.

The in-laws must have forgotten this, because this last Christmas they gave us another George. This time, out of guilt, we thought we should probably keep it. I wanted to return it, but golly, it just seems so rude to return a gift a second time.

I've only used George once. The instructions said something about grilling sandwiches, so I grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch one day. They came out as squished cheese patties. Not appetizing at all. My family was not impressed. (I don't even like cheese sandwiches. ) I probably did something wrong, though, because I can't imagine anyone would like squished patty sandwiches.

So maybe I should give George another chance.

Let me start by saying how happy I am that my thread has replaced the George Foreman grill thread that used to be in Home and Garden (it just disappeared one day).

We don't have one yet. We gave my parents a nice one several years ago and they immediately returned it (a la the crankys).

Same parents then gave Cindy and I an "imitation" GFG, which we promptly returned.

Reading on the forums has just about convinced us that we need one. We want the one with adjustable temperature (which may solve the burnt fish problem heretofore mentioned).

LOL!

Oh, now I understand.

Well, that offer is good (and you're first on the list, since you want one and don't have one) . . .

But please don't hold your breathe waiting for me to receive one and then send it to you.
The likelihoood of someone giving me a Foreman grill isn't all that great.

I have a question about smoke points. If George starts smoking, do you need to exorcise him?
