I was playing drums once at a huge tent revival and the crowd was really getting into the service. People shouting and praising God all over the place. The more they got into the service, the more I got into the service. All the sudden the back leg of the drummers throne (stool) slipped off the piece of plywood it was sitting on and I found myself OUTSIDE the tent. I had fallen thru the backwall of the tent. There was so much shouting and praising that I don't think the group missed me until I came walking back in from the front of the tent and walked up the aisle to the stage.

Oh, my! That's quite a story!

As they say Daniel, "Truth is stranger than fiction." My wifes brother went on a trip with me to Arkansas one day soon after his sister and I were married. He came back and told her "If only have the stories he tells are true, he has done it all." Her response was, "They are true, I have heard them from others as well." lol

This one is just for BBfan....

I was playing drums with a group at a big outside singing, years and years ago. We were playing on a wooden stage that the organizers had built a "roof" out of the blue tarps. Well it rained the night before and no one had bothered to dump the water off the tarps. I'm guessing there was 10-15 gallons sitting in a puddle on the tarp. Well we were finishing up and the Singing Cookes were next. The Cooke boys (told you it was many years ago) were standing at the edge of the stage waiting their turn. It was then that James Cooke noticed the puddle of water and took it upon himself to use his bass guitar to push up the tarp where the water was standing. Well with my luck being what it is, all that water came off the tarp and went right down my back...all of it.

I finished the set then James took the stage still with tears in his eyes. I always did enjoy meeting the crowd while being soaking wet.
