HisFish -> Is crosswalk theologically sound? (6/22/2008 12:28:12 AM)

Iv'e seen banner adds for joel osteen and joyce meyers on crosswalk. i think its safe to say that these two are doctrinally suspect to say the least. Whats the deal?. Is it just about advertising dollars, or should crosswalk have some sort of duty to maintain spiritual integrity according to its own statement of beliefs. Thoughts?

Hopefully, only for the good stuff. After all, when Jesus turned the water into wine, he did produce that wine in the box stuff. So hopefully Crosswalk will imitate Jesus and only advertise the good stuff.

Moving from Christian Doctrine to Feedback & Information.

one thing to realize is Crosswalk is a for profit business, The decision as to whom to accept advertising $$$ is a business decision. As much as their teachings are rebuked, I don't know if it is a wise move for Osteen and Myers to spend their business $$$ here. I do know Lifeway (Baptist Book stores) will not cary their books whereas Zonderven does. But Zondervan is part of a large secular chain which opens another thread of discussion.

They may allow those people to advertise (I have no problem with that), but they don't limit or prevent us from having threads that discuss/point out their false teaching...and we do have threads on both of the people you mentioned...long, long, long threads![;)]

martyfran -> RE: Is crosswalk theologically sound? (6/23/2008 7:48:53 AM)

And you can be assured that if crosswalk starts putting up liquor ads, there will be extremely long threads arguing whether Jesus would be drinking that particular brand of liquor.

I wonder if they are aware of that fact....

LOL! Well, we know they haven't actually read the bible, and we know that they do not listen to others. It stands to reason that they do not read anything here; therefore, they have no idea. [8D]

Hey! The ads are thread-fodder!

At least they don't often allow those annoying flashing ads -- those are even worse than an ad for Joey or Joycie!

I don't use crosswalk, I use Christianity.com. However, I believe they are the same organization. I enjoy coming here because I met some really good people who have excellent knowledge of the bible. I thought I knew it all but I have been humbled by my fellow brothers and sisters.

I need to renew my paid subscription here. If Fritz will let me. I misunderstood him, got really really miffed, and told him to drop it. Now, I'm sorry. He may tell me to get lost. [:(]
