Apparently, playing the so-called "race card" works. White people have been playing it for years. Recently, Hillary played it with her "hard working white people" comments. It's rarely advantageous for a black person to play the "race card" however, but it seems now, whenever a black person calls out somene for being racist, they're playing the "race card". Sometimes, it's actually true, ya know. Like it's something unethical or underhanded about calling something what it is. I guess if I'm ever caught speeding and get pulled over I can accuse the officer of playing the "speed card". Or if I don't pay my electric bill, I can accuse the electric company of playing the "turn off my lights card." I've said before and I'll say it again. I believe Barack Obama will lose because there are too many people in America who won't vote for him for the simple reason he's black. And even more won't vote for him because of his "funny name." Or because they're convinced he's Muslim. Did I say EVERYBODY who doesn't vote for him is a racist, or just plain stupid? No, some, like the fine people in this forum, are looking at his stand on issues and issues alone. But there are a significant number who post in those forums down the street who won't vote for him because he's black. In some polls as many as 30 percent said such. In short, EVERYTHING Obama said about how he would be attacked is absolutely true. There is evidence of that already. I was listening to some talking heads last night discussing possible running mates for McCain. When Bobby Jindal's name came up, one of the panel members said it would be a bad choice because McCain would risk losing votes from those who are voting for him just because he's the white guy. As most of you know, Jindal is a dark skinned Indian and former Hindu (I guess that makes him raised a Hindu). The talking head was speaking the truth. And so was Obama. Race is on so many peoples' minds, but only when Obama, or another black person mentions it do some people get offended and accuse them of playing "cards". - Julius
