I just have some feedback on Women's Only Personal Issues,

I have no problem with the amount of threads dedicated to motherhood, reproduction, pregnancy as those are prominant parts of being a woman.

However, I have been quite frustrated with the personal pregnancy-watch threads for individuals. Is there another place that these could go? Is it possible to have a Pregnancy sub-folder in Personal Issues? Then TTC, pregnancy threads and baby-watch threads could go there.

Just a thought, and nothing personal, just hard to find what I'm looking for lately.

I agree. Sometimes very personal information gets posted in those 'watching' threads and I really feel like they belong in Women's Only. Just my 2 cents.

I can see starting a thread in PFY once the baby has arrived. However, pre-arrival stuff should probably be left in WO.

Yep, yep and yep. If it were possible to create a Mom-related subfolder with the personal issues that would be great. There are some very delicate matters that pre-labor mommas would like to find out about.

Please use THIS thread rather than all of the individual threads.

The thread will be updated monthly, to keep it from getting unwieldy.

I was thinking the same thing a few weeks ago. :)

I still don't understand why a subfolder couldn't have been created in the WO-PI folder and the threads moved there, rather than deleting them .... people poured out their hearts in posting their stories in an effort to encourage people who are currently expecting. I know that if I were in labour, and knew there was a folder with prayers and encouragement specifically for me, it would be nice to read that while working through the contractions. Instead, these encouraging words are now gone, and everyone is being bunched together. We could have used the pregnancy thread for that! The individual threads were started to keep everyone straight, and help each unique individual with their own select personal pregnancy and birth issues.

^Ditto^

Now this woman's mucous details are going to get confused with that woman's tearing, etc. I know I would be terribly hurt if my birthing story were just suddenly GONE. Some of the ladies may have backed up a copy, but some may not have had the opportunity to--as some of the births are VERY recent (within the last 2 weeks). That may not have given them adequate time to properly ensure that their important information didn't get lost.

Also, it helps me to be able to make a prayer list. I can say...okay...so and so has had blood clots so I need to pray for that...so and so is having high blood pressure...so and so is having her cervix stitch removed....etc. These are VERY personal issues and SHOULD be there in the WO personal threads. Yes, I understand they are back now...in one thread...which I can see how that is good (only one thread to look at)....but...if that really was the case....why were the stalking threads originally started? They've been around as long as *I* have...or longer. We can follow the "pregnancy" news in the pregnant mom thread, but let's face it...we have a lot of pregnant women around. I feel they each deserve to have a thread dedicated to them to encourage them throughout those last few weeks. Sure wish I had one 5 years ago in the last weeks of my pregnancy with DS. It's rough being a woman that's 37/38 weeks pregnant and praying every day is the day the baby will arrive...yet wanting to protect him or her inside just a little bit.

The Bible asks us to build each other up (the exact word used is edify). These threads have helped me to edify other women and they have helped encourage me through various things.

I understand that we may have another solution...I just pray that all of these things work out so that we can all be encouraged and not left feeling discouraged as some of these ladies have been feeling since the change....

Well, there you go. They've all been deleted. ALL the stalking/watching/welcome threads. Gone.

It's a shame that those who were concerned didn't just post a question about this IN the Women's Folder, so that we could have all discussed it together, and then put forward a joint proposal to Fritz.

Now everything has been wiped out - all the blood, sweat and tears, all the words of love and support, have been turned into nothing. I feel most of all for the most recently delivered women, who were checking back daily with questions, concerns, anxieties and exhaustions. This may be the only place they posted their birth stories, and now they have gone. I also feel for the women who are currently overdue or just about due, because they will be coming back looking for their threads and not finding them.

Now I will just shut up and sit here shaking my head.

I agree with Manda and the others. This was a terrible decision, and I really wish the Powers that Be would've opened it up for discussion first.

I think having a sub-folder would've been a great idea, and I feel so badly for the women whose folders have been lost. What a terrible shame.

I'm only 10 weeks along myself, but I was kinda looking forward to my own thread, as they didn't do individual threads back when my first was born.

How very sad.

I mean, even if they DID want to close all those threads (which they obviously did) ... why couldn't they have given us a 24 hour advanced warning so people could make copies of their birth stories and other important facts? I mean, people were given info specific to their situations in their threads, and probably DIDN'T write it down, as they knew they could always click the link and re-access the info ...

This hoovers!

I'm so sorry this was done to you, EmilyAnn. I really don't know what to say, I'm crying my eyes out here for all you ladies who've lost all your birth stories, and expressions of love and support.

I even "fumed" about it some to my DH. And he even understood the importance of these threads.

Isn't there any way to get them back so the ladies can at least copy them? Give them 48-72 hours and then pull them down permanently. Does that make sense? I know that isn't much time, but it will at least give people the opportunity!!!

The decision can't be made until tomorrow, when Fritz is in the office. We hear you.

Oh that's really sad that all the threads have gone without warning. I would be terribly terrible upset if that happened to me. I was so grateful for my thread and all the wonderful words of encouragement and celebration that occurred. I think it just got busy because there were alot of women all close together.
Please let the people have their threads back for a day or so to copy what was posted for keepsakes.

I think if you email Fritz about maybe being able to copy the thread (if it still exists), it'd get an answer quicker than posting in the thread.

ETA: Cross-posted with Tricia. :)

I know I'll probably be told that I'm unfairly applying scripture to this situation, but there is that passage which says if you have issue with a brother or sister in Christ, then approach them individually, etc ...

Since all these people seem to have issues with our stalking threads, why couldn't they have messaged us and told us first ... at which point we WOULD have requested a subfolder or something like that, to contain our threads in one location ....

Most of us have emailed Fritz directly ... sometimes more than once (first when the threads were moved into a mixed gender forum, and then again when they were just completely deleted) All of this happened during "normal office hours"

Wow! I am totally sad for the ladies whose threads were deleted.

I am very surprised by this action and incredibly disappointed by the decision and especially the way it was made.

Jacob's birth was the first time I had had my own "stalking" thread and I can hardly begin to describe how much I loved reading through that thread and seeing all the encouraging words after the ladies found out my labour had started, and all the congratulations after he was born. It was incredible reading a 6 page thread that was for MY encouragement. I felt unbelievably blessed.

I am in tears for these women whose threads are just gone. And I am sad for those who were looking forward to their own threads that will no longer get one.

To me, the simplest solution which as far as I can see would be win-win for everyone, would be to simply have a pregnancy/baby subfolder in the Women's section. That folder could have all the stalking threads, all the questions, all the baby chats, everything. I certainly don't see why each woman couldn't have their own thread in a folder like that. This would also enable those struggling with infertility, or even those just tired of the topic, to avoid those types of threads entirely.

I think its come to a point where maybe we do need a sub section, this type of thing has been going on for a while, where some people don't want to see the threads, others do etc

Wait, did all this start happening today? I started seeing the "moved" things earlier today but I might not have been paying attention. Anytime I email him he usually emails me back the next day in the morning or afternoon.

(((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) I am so sad for you Emily. And for all of you ladies who had your threads deleted without warning. I am so sad...

Like Manda said... some ladies may have not saved their threads before they got deleted and now a ton of great memories are now gone. If my thread of encouragement and love was deleted I would be bawling my eyes out.

Like everyone else I too wish that these ladies were given more time to save their threads.

I, for one, am struggling with infertility; however, I still love to see how things are going with all of the preggy ladies. It's a great desire to join y'all someday. Just not sure when that will happen...

Okay, I'm starting to cry and I am pretty sure it's out of sadness for y'all...

People have requested subfolders in the past. :) I think back then they didn't see the need or something like that.
