Hi guys......before I go on and share the second thing God really spoke to me last night I have to share what God showed me when I was typing earlier..........if I can do so without becoming speechless again. LOL.........

quote:

Thank you father that the house you will build for me, the life, marriage, family you will build, while I am busy working on your house will be one without a roof.......with open heavens.........thank you so much Lord......
As I wrote this I realized that if my greatest desire is to have a life, a family, a marriage which dwells under open heavens.........if my greatest desire is for God to build my relationships, my future, my marriage without a ceiling........and if I am going to share that life with my husband.......hadn't he also desire more then anything for God to build his house with no ceiling? Since, after all, we would be living in the same house, living the same life, family.........we would be living as one.....how can we live as one if one of us cares more about building a nice house with a roof and the other letting God build the house with NO CEILING...........

I found my spirit and soul crying out........Lord build us one house without a ceiling..........

I realized the men I have been interested in......the ones I have thought marriage might be a possibility.........not one of them was living or desired to live under open heavens........each of them was more concerned with making sure their house was in order and had a nice strong ceiling......roof..

Thank you so much Lord that you know the desires of my heart even when I don't.........thank you so much that the more I begin to focus on building your house the more you show me the house I was intent on building was far from the deepest desires of my heart.

I love Lord.......

I've been reading the book of Haggai in the New International Version and the verses that speak of the houses being "ceiled" in the KJV are translated "paneled" in the NIV.

Where those verses spoke to you of a ceiling separating God and man, it spoke to me of a home that is complete or comfortable. I imagined something like an old fashioned den or men's club. Large rooms with dark wood panelling and oversized, leather upholstered club chairs, dim lighting, heavy velvet curtains and Persian rugs.
Then I began to consider other verses like Now this is what the Lord Almighty says: "Give careful thought to your ways. You have planted much, but have harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it."
I began wondering if the remnant were not only more concerned with their own homes and comfort, but were becoming overindulgent.
Notice:
"You have planted much, but have harvested little." This speaks to me of grain and other crops lying waste in the fields. It's been planted, but never harvested because they planted more than they needed and no portion taken to the temple as an offering as God commanded.
"You eat, but never have enough." This speaks to me of gluttony. A person eating not only what they need, but more. The glutton never gets enough.
"You drink, but never have your fill." This is the drunk. Drunks never stop with one. They keep going until they are completely smashed. They are never satiated.
"You put on clothes, but are not warm." How often do you see a lady (Okay men too) who go out on a winter day wearing something totally inappropriate simply because it's currently fashionable? Expensive clothes that look good but serve no practical purpose, like warmth.
"You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it." How often, as a child, were you told by a parent, "That money is burning a hole in your pocket." This sounds like a similar metaphor, indicating a spendthrift. The money goes into the purse, but it's spent so quickly on foolish things which don't last or aren't needed, that your purse might as well have holes in it.

Perhaps the remnant was not only concerned with their own needs over their service to God, but concerned with indulging their carnal lusts and ignoring the Lord completely. After having been in captivity, they were finally free to have whatever and as much as they wished and they went overboard and Haggai's prophecy was the Lords way of jerking them back in line.

Some interesting thoughts Blazingson.

You have planted much, but have harvested little... and no portion going to the temple as an offering! I had been thinking about the more "simple' way of looking at it- as you worked hard to plant, but not much grew to harvest. Interesting thought that maybe they just didn't harvest- or didn't harvest correctly. After all, it's the first of the crop that was to be given to the Lord, was it not? Hmmm, something to chew on.

You eat, but never have enough/you drink but never have your fill. You put on clothes but are not warm Again, I had not really thought of gluttony, but it does fit. A glutton not only never gets enough, but is also "unsatisfied" by what he has. I guess using that idea it fits mor in line with what I was thinking about. The lack of being satisfied... and sometimes not even knowing what it is that you "want"...

So often we think we will "get to God" after... after we have seen to our houses (after all, God knows we need shelter, right?); after we have put away food for the year (after all, God knows we need to be fed, surely he doesn't begrudge storing up of our food...); after we have our clothes (after all, God would not want us to be cold or uncomfortable...); after we have saved enough of our money, then we can give to the church/Lord (after all, surely God doesn't want us to have to borrow money, right?...)

Perhaps we need to remember where it is that we need to store up treasures!

I was going wait and share the second thing which really spoke to me last night in Haggai then I thought...........no wait I don't want to save it over for tomorrow because I am expecting God to show me something different and new tonight.........I want to read it with new eyes tonight....

So bare with me as I post some more.

The second thing which really stood out to me was verse 7 and 8 in the second chapter.

And I will shake all nations, and the desires of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of host.

The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of host.

I thought of the desires of all nation....of my desires......what they are......and I asked God to begin to reveal my true desires to me.

Then I read the next verse........

The silver is mine.........The gold is mine........

My mind jumped to another verse.........

Silver and gold have I none but such as I have I give to thee.............Silver and gold have I none.

I know it was in acts so I went to find the verse........

It is in Acts 3

Peter and John go to the temple for prayer and a man, who was lame from birth, was at the gate of the temple called Beautiful, begging for money.

He ask peter and john for alms.........and their reply

Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

I thought ok Lord what does this have to do with you having all the silver and gold. Why did you draw my eyes to that verse? What do you want to show me?

Verse 9

The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of host: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of host.

What did the former temple look like? It was ornate...full of silver and gold.....rich in all that it was........yet the glory which God promises in the temple in each of us.......the place the Holy Spirit lives won't be made of silver and gold because God has plenty of that........he doesn't need it......all the silver and gold is his.........

What is not his? What can he only have if we give it too him? US.......The new temple he is building......The place God dwells now.......It is worth more then silver and gold........it is more valuable........

I think of the gates of beautiful.........how profound.........that we are the gates to the temple......our lives, our bodies, our hearts, our minds.......we are the gates which are beautiful......

And instead of having a temple which is build on things the world sees as import our temple will be built on the power of the Holy Spirit.

When people saw the former temple they saw silver and gold........when people come to our temple they will see miracles..........

The latter temple is greater because it is not built with silver or gold, of which God has plenty, but with the Crucifixion of His one and only son........it was only given to us at the suffering of His son.......only in His gift could we receive His gift......the gift of the Holy Spirit.......the gift which enable us to give healing to another..........wow.

The father's temple grows more and more glorious, more and more beautiful, as we allow the Holy Spirit an more active role in our lives.........

Think about it.......the new temple can call on the name of the Lord and people can walk.......

My temple is more beautiful, more glorious because it holds not only the presence of God but the power of God............This temple can make the blind to see, the deaf to hear, lame to walk and dead to live.............WOW

The old temple was a place God dwell ed.......our new temple is a place the Spirit of God dwells in all his power.......AND the old temple it's glory came from with in......

Ours not only has glory coming from within but being poured out over us........

Our temple can be built under open heavens.......and that blows me away.

Lord help us grasp the beauty and glory of the temple in us........

Please Father help us to understand more fully what it means to live life under open heavens....

Thank you my precious Lord.........I love you so much.
