We are home from the hospital now [:)]
Paul literally pulled in the driveway, took Judah into his room and put him down for his nap and then ran out the door for his folow up appointment from his surgery. Poor man!

It is SO nice to be home!

The whole birth thing was amazing. My doctor was as awesome as I could've dreamed of and I could not of hand picked better nurses. They were so supportive and so hands off.


I went in Sat morning - 2am - and was 6 cm.
At 2pm on Sat I was still 6 cm and the dr would've sent me home if I wanted to. But we decided on pit instead (I didn't feel it was safe to go home - just a gut -God- feeling.)
The pit took me to 8 cm - and I never felt a single contraction. The dr and nurses and doulas were just standing there with their mouths open as the contraction scale thing kept getting higher and higher and it didn't phase me at all. It was odd. The doula said I'm her new research project now!

I don't remember exact times - and I will write up a more detailed birth story later - but basically I was 8 cm, Wesley's heart rate dropped, the dr said he felt he should break the water (we'd been hoping for him to be born in the caul!), so he broke it and 18 minutes later - 16 of them pushing - Wesley was out!
I definitely felt it when pushing [sm=icon_smile_yikes.gif]


Thanks for the prayers ladies! And Jeanie, thanks for the note for Wesley! It made me smile.
And yes, he is 3 lbs heavier than Judah was!

So did you not have any painful contractions at all? That's incredible! Glad to hear you had such a great team. That can make such a huge difference.

Sarah- What a sweet little baby! I loved looking at all of your pictures. And you can definitely tell who your mom is. [:D] I am glad things went well and sooo glad the Dr. went with his gut, too. And I agree with the others- you look great!

Jessica- Congratulations!!!! Welcome baby Wesley! I love the name. If your doula figures something out with her research, please pass it along this way. [;)]

Jessica--that's a great birth story. I wonder if that happened partly because your cervix really *wanted* to open up--you had to work hard to keep it closed long enough. [;)]
