Does God love Satan? Luk 6:35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. Mat 5:44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, Mat 5:45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Interesting question. I honestly never considered it before now. Without being too dogmatic, I would say that the implication drawn from the preceding passages is that God does love Satan. We also know from Scripture that regardless of God's love for Satan or evil men, there will be judgement upon both leading to eternal damnation.

Earthless, I recommend that you read the Scripture references I gave. Now if you want to discuss what it means that God loves His enemies in context, I'm willing to do that.

We can't know everything about God. We're not on his level. I think it's an ego trip for a lot of people make claims about God or God's every view. Basically an attempt to elevate one's own self. So, I tend not to answer such questions. But - I think we could agree that God has the "capacity to love" Satan - if God chooses to do so.

Watch this: Does God love everyone?? This may be wrong, but isn't the whole bible basically a story of loving the sinner but hating the sin? It may not specifically say those words, but does it not imply it through the story? Just a question, but as the old saying goes, also not biblical, actions speak louder than words, and the actions God takes on behalf of the sinner would resonate to me that He hates sin, but loves the sinners, since He loves us while we are yet sinners. jmho ps. now whether or not this applies to Satan, the snake of old, I don't know.

God loves us sinners as evidenced by Jesus. God's actions on mankind's behalf prove His love. God never made provision for Satan's salvation. Therefore, I'm of the opinion that God doesn't love Satan.

Your Scripture references point to two things: 1) That Jesus wants us (believers on this planet) to show God's grace and be kind to all those around us. & 2) That God is kind to those because He allows them (for a short time) to exercise their free will in hating Him and yet being allowed to enjoy the short-sighted fruits of this world/life. But the time will indeed come when His wrath will come upon them rightfully and fully. Did you watch the clip I posted?

Earthless, The point of the passages I quoted is that we are to love our enemies in order to be like our Father in Heaven. Again, if you want to discuss exactly what that means, I'm happy to do so. Also, the major flaw in your video is that the speaker failed to factor in the very passages I quoted in my post above.

God’s love for all of mankind results in the fact that God shows His mercy by not immediately punishing people for their sins (Romans 3:23; 6:23). If God did not love everyone, we would all be in hell right now. God’s love for the world is manifested in the fact that He gives people the opportunity to repent (2 Peter 3:9). However, God’s love for the world does not mean that He will ignore sin. God is also a God of justice (2 Thessalonians 1:6). Sin cannot go unpunished forever (Romans 3:25-26). The most loving act of eternity is described in Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Anyone who ignores God’s love, who rejects Christ as Savior, who denies the Savior who bought him (2 Peter 2:1) – that person will be subject to God’s wrath for eternity (Romans 1:18), not His love (Romans 6:23). God loves everyone unconditionally IN THAT He shows mercy to everyone. God conditionally loves only those who place their faith in His Son for salvation (John 3:36). Only those who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will experience God’s love for eternity.

that clip had one of the rudest preachers i have ever seen. God can hate satan because God can see perfectly that he is completely corrupt, and salvation/redemption is for mankind. if God didn't love sinners, why did He send His son? were we not yet sinners when Christ died for us?

Some would argue and say that God predestined who He was coming to save before the creation of this world. Just saying.

Alright. Everyone got off the topic on this forum. But anywho, I'm undecided. I mean, I know God is love...but I don't know if he hates Satan. He cannot look onto sin. I mean, Jesus died on the cross and he cried out to God, "Abba Abba, why have you forsaken Me?" Because God cannot look on sin. I mean, Satan IS sin. So I really don't know. hahah.

To sort of sum up my agreement with what some others have said - in the respect that Satan cannot accept (nor is offered) the free gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus, no, God does not love Satan.

In Hebrew, satan translate to "adversary". What is an adversary? ad·ver·sar·y a person, group, etc., that is an opponent in a contest; contestant. Since satan stands in opposition of what God is, it's clear that he stands for hate and lies. Basically everything that sin is comprised of. God cannot love sin, sin being everything the devil stands for. If God loved the devil, He would be accepting and loving sin. Since God says He hates sin, He cannot love it, otherwise He would be contradicting Himself. God cannot contradict Himself. Therefore, God does not love satan.

Since satan stands in opposition of what God is Satan is no match for God so I have a hard time viewing Satan as a "real" adversary - any power Satan has God allows. As with Job or in Luke (22:31) where he asked God's permission to sift Simon (the disciples) as wheat. More appropriately, Satan is our adversary and it is we that stand in opposition to God. Satan seeks to undermine our faith, as in the above examples. Satan opens doors and moves in and out of our lives, but he doesn't shove sin (or apples) down our throat. The evil acts we witness on the Earth are a product of man. I think it's possible God could hate Satan, but you're approaching this from a human mindset not an ALL POWERFUL one - we don't possess that ability. Would an elephant hate a tiny little ant? Hardly I think - the elephant could squash it if it wanted too and not have to get enraged or hate filled in the process. You're assuming God is hateful, like man.
