Backyard photos . . . that's another thing that's so amazing. There are so many wonderful backyard (and front yard) views around here. The other day, I realized that the vast majority of places I have lived (or visited) here in Jackson, the views have been beyond magnificent. I can only think of two places (one a studio and the other a condo) where I have lived here that I didn't have an immediate view of The Tetons or of some wonderful nature; but even with them, I only had to walk a couple of minutes to rectify that.
Santa, do you know the "where" of your current avatar? I'm thinking it's from the new visitor center in Moose, WY in GTNP (Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center). A couple of my friends and I went there 2 Sundays ago after homechurch. They opened last August, but this year was the first time I've gone.

I purposefully didn't buy my usual week's worth of groceries because of us leaving tomorrow. Eldest eats out with or over at girlfriend's so as long as there are some snack foods and a frozen pizzas and drinks in the house he is fine. He is puppy sitting for me this week. I have grown so attached to that dog it isn't funny. If there wasn't a no pet policy where we're staying she would be going with us! You have to understand...in the past I would have scheduled the boarding of the dog before I reserved our accomodations. Actually I would have boarded her too but she is still too young and hasn't finished her puppy shots yet besides son's girlfriend is a vet assistant and he works for a doggy daycare. So she is in good hands.

I got a good days rest, unlike yesterday when I had trouble sleeping. One more of the allnighters for now. Go in at 10pm and work until 8 am and then back at 3 pm. So Lynn, you may need to have them wake me when y'all check in tomorrow. I will be in the reservation area. Just have them give me a call when you get in.

Well, I get back this afternoon and both threads are open and going. What's for supper. Looks like it's gonna be pizza. We had a late big lunch in Hiwassee today so we're nor really hungry.
Weather was nice up there today. It was cool and a breeze blowing across the porch.

We went to Golden Corral for dinner and they had "field greens" and I had a big salad of that. It was wonderful.

We picked up a jar of cherry butter this afternoon in Blue Ridge on the way home as well as a half gallon of muscadine cider. We went by Mercer Orchard. They had about any type of jelly, or old fashioned canned goods you can imagine. Also bought a peck of peaches that they had just picked from their orchard. They had fresh cherries, blueberries and I don't know everything. They raise a lot of stuff they sell there. Sign said they had over 100,000 trees. We stop by there quite often when we are in the area and they are open.

Bobby, many years ago I would stop by there and get a bag of the largest apples I have ever seen. This would have been back in the 60's. Never have seen anyone with apples as large as theirs were. And good eating apples also.
