The filtration system is great but I also like to put air pumps in the water too. what kind of cleaning equipment to you have. normally for a 10 gallon tank you only really need 1 air pump but I do prefer a 20 gallon anyway in which you need 2 air pumps. oh yeah one more thing I really do not like to buy fish from walmart I prefer to buy them from a real fish store they tend to last a little longer.

Having had fish most of the time that I was growing up, I am very aware that junk can build up in the gravel. I do keep an eye on that, but it hasn't been a problem. Really.

Well, knowing you, I bet that's the answer. Jesse and I will definitely look at your tank when we get there. My first inclination was a couple of goldfish and work up from there. I really don't care much what we get, other than I don't want to have to spend a ton of money and I want him to have a good experience. We did have fish when I was a kid, but my dad pretty much took care of them so I don't really remember much about them. I just remember him getting all excited when the guppies had babies.
