..........................................................I hadn't even heard of them until now. If they help people in remembering to stay pure then that's fine with me but I don't think they're a necessity.

I can see where you are coming from Rae, but then what's the point of a wedding ring? All it is is an expensive piece of metal. The purity ring is like a wedding ring, taking it on or off doesn't make you pure or impure, just like if you take off a wedding ring that doesn't make you single.
It's a symbol to remind you of your promise to God, yourself, and your future spouse. Sure, you can not wear one and still be pure, but you can also not wear a wedding ring and be married

I'm with the first opinions of Lacey and Mandy. It's not required, but whatever floats your boat.....
I'll probably never have one, but I don't need a reminder. I have my conscience that works quite well.

I have one.
IMO, they're of course not necessary, but they can be a great witnessing tool. While on a mission trip this past week, I was asked by an unsaved thirteen year old girl what my ring was for. I was able to use it to not only speak for morality but to use it as part of my testimony. This girl was already latched onto me and tried to copy nearly everything I did. I'm praying I made an impact on her.

I am 100% for them. I think it's a great idea to show just how strong your faith is that "true love waits"
I have bought several over the past few years and my favorite place to buy them is: Purity Rings.
Know of any other good purity ring websites?

i am completely for them. sometimes when your in a tempting situation, they help to remind you of your commitment to purity and to God.
