So they went out and changed their mind.
Metanoia is the greek word used, meaning change mind.
? now what were they saying to chang their mind about? Is it sin and stop from it. Was that not already in place through the law? Sacrificing animals for their sins, striving to be perfect, and no one attaining it.
The desire to be sinless was there already wasn't it. Wanting to stop.

So change our minds had to be change from trying to stop sin and start to trust God to show you his ways and your problems (sin issues) will be taken care of. And that was taken care of at the cross, proof at the ressurection. Further proof at pentecost, and even further proof at his appearance to over 500 at one time. Believe through belief in Christ, one is saved. he took care of all our issues. The dividing line of human history (the cross)

So what is it they were told to repent of?
Would not this be change one's mind to the messiah, seek him and trust him to do in you what you can not in self?
I think God is the only one that can make me perfect, and he has done that from his point of view, through his son on the cross. I did not receive this until after I believed and sought to learn of him.
For Jesus said to his disciples with man it is impossible to be perfect, but with god all things are possible.
Yet we as people continue to strive to be perfect, thinking God or others will be so pleased at me (us)for striving and attaining this or that.

It is all dung per paul: obeyed the law, circumcised the 8th day, observed the law, better than most. Now counts it all rubbish, forsaking it all, that he might gain Christ, the author and finisher of his (our) faith
Notice: Saul obeyed the law, and Christ did not obey Saul's learned law. The law of Saul. Christ obeyed the law of love. Thus Saul became Paul and taught the law of love from then on after he spent time away, learning from god in the arabian desert for quite a few years. Then he came preaching the law of love.

Bottom line change one's mind from unbelief to belief in the living savior (Jesus Christ) The way the truth and the life.
ineffable love
