BlackCapnHarlock -> Victory over temptation, let's praise (6/25/2008 11:08:11 PM)

Ever since I have been working on surrendering to GOD, I have been experiencing more victory in my life and feel that a major spiritual break through is on the way that will change my life for good and for GOD forever.

1. This weekend, I was desiring porn real heavy, I mean man ready to go. Friday night I resisted temptation pretty solidly.

2. Saturday night was rough, I was tired and ready for it to roll I prayed and nothing changed. I was ready . . then my friend called me we talked and prayed and bang the urge was gone.

3. Sunday night was pretty much null.

So a weekend no masturbation at all, no porn watching at all. I've also gotten even more disciplined.

Sunday at church, cute intern in front of me, and her friend with a nice rear end, guess what? DISCIPLINE BABY . . no starring at her hind parts and kept focused through out the service. YEAH . ..

I'm not perfect yet, but man I am growing and seeing less and less sin in my life and more and more CHRIST.

I encourage us to be honest to GOD about our sins and desires and trust in him to deliver us, as we can't deliver our selves.

May he grant us the wisdom, love and obedience to avoid all these things in this forum.

Amen.

Personally, I choose to stray away from defining my progress with sexual sins as "victories" because that could become very man-centered and egotistic. The focus for me is loving the Lord wholeheartedly and being obedient to His will. I could gloat about overcoming masturbation and not looking at porn but purity is just one of many areas in my life where God has called me to be obedient and I need to ask myself how am I doing in those areas as well. If or when I fall, I wasn't defeated. I was simply disobedient because my love for God is not where it needs to be and that's what needs to be my incentive to change.
