There's a long list of things I wouldn't eat as a kid. Fish, spinach, eggplant, peppers, onions, green beans, carrots, etc. I did the whole gag routine. Now I'm getting payback from my own kids. My 3 yo did that last night and ended up not just gagging but managing to bring up all the food he'd eaten (and he only started gagging *after* he'd happily eaten most of his meal but then discovered there was applesauce for dessert, and he didn't want to wait until he'd finished [8|]) As an adult I've learned to overcome the gag reflex and will eat almost anything that's offered to me. I love peppers and onions now, love veggies, don't mind eggplant or spinach. But while I can eat fish, I still don't like it at all, and only eat it if social etiquitte requires it. Thus far I've managed to avoid shrimp and shellfish altogether, because just the smell of them makes me queasy. [&:]
