Anybody into canoeing/kayaking? My church had a father/son canoe/camping trip on the Delaware river this past week. We had a great time. Go to http://Christianiron.com and see the slideshow link from Dave's Weekly Rant page.

I used to do a lot of canoeing. And, also did a lot of fly fishing from a Scanoe, which is a very wide, stable canoe with a flat aft that can take a motor if desired. I don't get to use it much any more. But, I sure did enjoy it.

My church used to have a canoeing trip either every year or every other year, depending on interest. They were such fun. The first year I went, my brother and I took his canoe instead of using the ones from the rental place like everyone else did. Though we had a great time, we learned our lesson and the next time let the canoe outfitters take care of worrying about getting the canoe out and put up, especially when being exhausted after the trip.

My favorite place we went was at the Caddo River in Arkansas. It is so pretty. In fact, a pic of my brother on the Caddo from the time we went with our church. Ain't he cute. (I'm the picture-taker). It's been a while since any of us have gone, but if there was any talk of going again, I'd be up for it. I love the river. [:)]
