WAY TO GO EVERYBODY! Now we can, without looking at our faults, single down on a presidential candidate and complain, complain, judge, judge, judge, and complain. I just spoke to God and he said that he was tired of being the judge and He wanted to give us that responsibility since we are so good at it. [/sarcasm]

Dang. When I saw the subject line I thought it was going to be an insightful reference to 1 Corinthians 6:2.

For all those who believe one isn't to judge I pray you never fall under false teaching since you'll be stuck with it... John

Do you have evidence of fruit of a born again, redeemed believer in the Lord Jesus, God the Son to share with us that would indicate that your fav candidate is in the Kindgdom? Any at all? [/Reality Check]

John There's a HUGE difference between "discernment" (being able to distinguish truth from fallacy by measuring against it God's word) and "judgement." Only GOD is able to look into a man's heart and see past his outward deeds. Since God will judge US in the same manner we judge others, we tread dangerous waters when we claim we can see into another persons heart and judge his actions.

[/Reality Check] I agree, why don't we all read 1 corinthians 5 again. Not saying that we should be running off and judging him(Obama) without looking at the facts first. But the facts do speak to his sincerity, and moral stance. I mean we wouldn't want to have his daughters punished with babies now would we. So to all the Obama supporters, are we just supposed to stand idly by and keep quiet when this man is lying to us? He is running for public office, the President of The United States. Are we not supposed to judge him, based on the issues, his character and his words and actions? Or do we just vote him in because he speaks well, and because he promises change which he can not bring. The change he will bring, we will all be complaining about in a couple of years. Will the morally dignant man or woman please stand up, and not be afraid to say what is right.

Of course, Obama and McCain should BOTH be judged based on their stance on issues, their words and actions, etc. No one should vote for a candidate blindly or based simply on political affiliation. However, there is so much misinformation and outright lies out there that it takes effort to separate what a candidate actually said or did from what is reported on some tabliod press (i.e. WND) or what some talk radio pundit (right or left) is attributing to a candidate. By their very nature, politicians lie. President Bush has lied to us, Presidents Clinton, Bush Sr., Reagan, Nixon, etc. have all lied. In our political climate there is no one to win an election without telling the masses what they want to hear -- regardless of your intent to keep your promises. Also, ALL candidates promise things they can't deliver. We don't live in a dictatorship so ideas on how to improve our ecomony, how to deal with the war in Iraq, and issues like how to legally legislate moral behavior all have to go through congress and/or supreme court rulings so no ONE candidate has absolute power to make his promises come true. Most importantly, one must remember that we are voting for president of the United States and NOT for the head of the church.

I agree with you, we should be voting based on what hey stand for, and what they can get done in office. All of the smear, lies, and rumors are sickening, and have to stop. They won't, but if they do, then and maybe then the issues will take front page. Until then, what we see, is what we base our choice on, and what Obama has shown me is not good. McCain, I don't see as any better, but at least he will be good with defense. I think they both stink, and may vote for Mickey Mouse, but that would be a vote wasted, and not a vote that would keep Obama out, which at this point is my intent. NObama 08.

Making temporal judgment based on actions is what one must do, if not how does avoid the topless bar, drugs, etc... This is what the word of God says.... "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. (Matt 7:1-2) Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He [God] will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God. (1Cor 4:5) What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. (1Cor 5:12-13) You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. Now we know that God's judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment? Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance? (Romans 2:1-4) Take the issue up with God, dude.
