ORIGINAL: Solus quote:
ORIGINAL: Stephanos Can a singular person who attends a Mormon Church be a Christian? Yes. Is Mormonism a Christian denomination? NO! Mormonism at its heart denies the very essence and nature of God. They believe that believers can become their own gods. They believe that our God was a person on another plane of existence/planet. They believe that Jesus and Satan were brothers. They believe that by following Christ's teachings you can potentially have as much knowledge as God. But if that is completely against the Bible then what about John 10: 34? And as far as Jesus and Satan being brothers, here is what I have gathered: They believe that God is the father of all, hence everyone is his children. But they believe that Satan is a fallen angel and Jesus is the Son of God as well as God the Son. I am not Mormon so I may have gotten this wrong, I just don't like the smear campaign against LDS that seems to be going on. 1. Mormonism is a cult. 2. They believe in the God of Joseph Smith, and even though they believe in Jesus Christ, which they say they are, they are following another "Jesus". 3. They believe in "Another Testement" of Jesus Christ, which is the "Book of Mormon." They do not believe in God's word. This is not a smear campaign against the Mormons and I'm sorry if you think so, however, this need to be called on the carpet and to let Christians know that these people are following a religion which is contrary to bibical teachings.
