Did you mean, "You must NOT assume that a country unwilling to acknowledge Jesus Christ in its official documents is somehow a Christian nation"?...

No. The poster seems to assume that the USA is the modern version of Israel with a special covenant unlike any other nation on earth - and that 2008 is the most awful year in recorded history. Neither are true and both are the notions of self-appointed prophets with an aversion to living the Great Commission and honest labor.

IMHO, of course.

One thing sure about the end, we are closer today than we were yesterday.

You must have the gift of prophecy.[:o]

and I thought cog was pointing out the obvious... cow's responce had me rolling on the floor laughing. Not sure if he was being sarcastic, but still...
what cog said does serve as a good reminder though, for young people like me still under the impression that I'm immortal! =D It's just that "the end" or death seems so far away. =)

Anyway I just wanted to pop in a comment for Retrobyter. Thank you for the posts you made, they have been most inspiring. I would even say it was almost beautiful (without a better word to describe it).

Trust me, he was being sarcastic. [;)]

The Lord said to watch for signs. Are they not showing up?
Think about it and you will see.

LOL! Ha! Ha!.

Thanks cow, you're the best. (best of what I don't know)

Ever thought of replacing Sims with Tarkenton.

Look more closely. That's Manning. [;)]

Well Gollleeeeee! It is little Manning.
I still think Tarkenton would be a good throwback.

ConGrats on beating the Skins!

We'll know the end is in sight when the Redskins go to the superbowl.

We're at least a decade from the "end", then.[&:]

Shalom, everyone.

Okay, I think we've come to the conclusion that the end is RELATIVELY near. He could come at any moment, and yet, it seems that some signs may have to be fulfilled before He does. Let's see,... which signs must be fulfilled before He comes?

Most of them. Conditions are ripe but not many events have occurred yet.

i once heard a preacher reason that since there was killing of babies when Moses was born, who later led Israel from Egypt, and there was killing of babies when Jesus was born, who is our Lord and Savior and now there is killing of babies (abortion, which is widespread in much of the Earth) then the "end" and Christ's return are definitely near...would be interested in hearing other thoughts on this reasoning

Extrabiblical reasoning.

But sounds like a good plot line for another LaHaye novel that the easily-led will buy to increase his earthly bank account.

I am just glad to hear that such murder stopped in between those significant events. [&:]
