For the record... For one to claim Christ and support things that are plainly evil compounds the sin... It would be better for Obama to not claim Christ if he going to continue to support plainly evil things. As well from position of ordained by God power...

They should be treated like anyone else who hires someone to murder another person. Here's the entire block of scripture...

Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove the speck out of your eye'; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother's eye" (Matthew 7:1-5).

If we condemn someone for something we do ourselves, we bring condemnation upon ourselves... That is what the above is referring to...

He is saying quite clearly, wait til the Lord comes. In Jude, He is saying not to accuse, but leave to the Lord, to rebuke.

Welcome to the world of elections in the forums.

If the candidate is a Democrat, he or she is going to get criticized around here. That's the bottom line.

I am an independent too, and don't waste my energy in this particular folder. Whenever I post here, I get misunderstood, and I am sure this post will be no exception. There are many to choose from that don't zap every ounce of my energy trying to defend myself.

Stop by and visit us in Singles, women's, relationships, community lounge, etc. There are a lot of things to talk about that don't involve politics.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him


The real funny part... Is that I am sure folks out there believe Obama loves the homosexuals he supports, yet in fact by his actions he really shows them nothing close to love. To support their agenda is to condemn them...

As for his support for abortion... It goes without saying pertaining to his regarding for the unborn... There is none...

I am an independent too, and don't waste my energy in this particular folder. Whenever I post here, I get misunderstood, and I am sure this post will be no exception. There are many to choose from that don't zap every ounce of my energy trying to defend myself.

Stop by and visit us in Singles, women's, relationships, community lounge, etc. There are a lot of things to talk about that don't involve politics.

Duhhh.
NO Politician is what he/she claims.
They try to be who most people want them to be so they'll get the most votes and win. And most people don't want to hear the truth about themselves or their conditions, so most people vote for the guy/gal who makes them feel better about themselves.
Obama and McCain and whoever you plan to vote for (unless you plan to write in yourself) are no different.

That's why they call it politics.

Your comment about most people voting for whomsoever "makes them feel good about themselves" is probably true of many who only get their news from 10 second soundbites from the major news media and spend the rest of their time listening to the latest Top 40 "music." These are the people who give us our "wonderful" presidents and lawmakers.

We reasoning people don't vote for someone who simply makes us feel good about ourselves. We look at issues, listen to what they are really saying (and how many times they flip-flop), analyze their message, determine if we can believe what they say, determine how well their positions compare with our own positions on real matters (as opposed to whether Bill Clinton wears boxers or briefs), and vote accordingly

I don't know why you think the "feel good" bit was worth mentioning, but it's your right to do so.

I agree with you, but infortunately recent evidence suggests that most people fall into the "feel-good" bucket. I'm very glad to see that you don't. The only thing worse than not voting is to vote in an uneducated fashion.

Unfortunately, in order to get elected, you have to get the votes of "most people." And even the "reasoning" people out there have egos they like stroked occasionally, ears they want to be tickled from time to time, and pet issues they want placed ahead of any other. While a good old fashioned fire and brimstone preacher may not have a problem with stepping on a few toes when he presents the truth, a politician who steps on enough of the wrong toes never gets out of the gate. Those who learn to play the game and play it well survive. The rest turn out to be radio talk show hosts or folk heroes.
