Loved the article. Thanks for posting. This is the biggest hurdle for homeschoolers -- much more of a hurdle than figuring out how to teach their kids something like algebra.[8D] At some point you hope they ask themselves and the Lord, "Where did my expectations come from and are they appropriate?" I went to the homeschooling convention this year with an old friend of mine who's also homeschooled for a while -- a total of 9 years. She has a situation similar to mine. She homeschooled for three years and then quit for several years, and now has been back at it for six years. We both know what it means to get real about expectations, but it was not a painfree process. But we're glad to have gone through it. Well, the weekend of the convention we interacted with quite a few mothers, and there were several who had these unrealistic expectations. We just prayed for them that the Lord's wisdom and peace would rest on them. I think I've shared a few times [;)] how the Lord dealt with and continues to deal with my unrealistic expectations. It was indeed something I wouldn't wish on someone, but I realize it is a great blessing to me and in turn my family.
