I got my first professional wax job-- legs and bikini-- a few days before my wedding, too (had used a few home kits over the years).

It might be, if you've never experienced the sensation at all. It hurts, but not unbearably so, IMHO. Trimming the hair first to about 1/4" will help immensely.

You should be able to keep your underwear on (or wear some disposable ones they give you), unless you're getting a Brazilian.
