Oh, yeah, I point it out and refuse to discuss it, which makes him quite angry.

I don't even want to think about him getting married. It's been so bad lately, if I had been married to him, I'd have moved out.

Another night of broken sleep because of rbekah. I am soooo tired. I am grouchy. I feel almost sick from lack of sleep. It feels like another humid day. I can't seem to get away from the humidity. Today we have to start early so we can make goop for VBS. See y'all later!

Jennifer--Okay, so you know EXACTLY what I'm going through with ds2. I am sooooooo sick of the "you don't love me/you are just making my life miserable" thing. Dude. WAKE UP! Your life is miserable because YOU are choosing to make it that way. Obviously I don't have any magic answers. I haven't a clue why someone would choose to live this way. I am very concerned about his future. Ellie-Mae--hang tough! Cooler weather is on the way! It's a very chilly 63* this morning, and the high is only in the upper 70's. And I ORDER you to take a nap this afternoon! I've been napping almost every afternoon and it has made a world of difference! I ahve a very easy day today. I asked my coach for a rest day. After he picked himself up off the floor (I never ask for rest days!) he dropped the bike ride and cut the swim in half. Much needed!

When my son starts with the whining lately, ("Why does she get to do that" or "Why don't I get to have that?") I have told him a couple of times... "That's because she is my favorite!" or "That's because I love her more than you!"... and when I say that it is so obvious that it isn't true that it mellows him out. It doesn't sound like he is at the same point that your son is, but it has helped me. I wonder what would happen if you try agreeing with what he is accusing you of. It may make him angry, but it also may start to seep in his heart so that he can see the truth. I realize that it would have to be done carefully, and not mockingly, but not too seriously either... (you don't want him to tell people, "My mom told me that she does not love me and wishes that I was never born"). But I do believe that if we can make teenagers see the truth of what they are saying, they will see the truth in what WE are saying. Don't know if this will help, as I don't have much experience... yet. My oldest is just a teenager and my son has a couple years to go. But wanted to pass it along, just in case you can glean something useful from it!

Good morning everyone, I only read this page of posts.... sounds like there are some attitude problems with kids?? I fee for ya! So far so good with attitudes this morning at my house. My house is a mess today:( and I will have company on Friday and a b-day party to go to, and I am actually tired of summer. Noah was up 3 times last night, even though he didn't fall asleep until mid-night, then up at 7:30. I've been trying to sell baby clothes on ebay and boy oh boy is that a job! I didn't realize I had probably 100 or more clothes in the 6-9 month size!!! Noah stayed in that size from about 5 months- 14 months or so! Anyways the lack of routine and all the "extras" of summer is making me tired. My boys did their first Math lesson in the Teaching Textbooks.... I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT!!!! This is a real winner for me!! It will free up so much of my time this year!!!! DD is on lesson 6 now. We are trying to paint our deck today with some redwood stain. It is a pain. THe church wanted us to do it. I"m not sure why, the wood was green treated, I thought that was good enough. It does look okay with stain on it... makes it look darker. But it is such a job to paint something that hasn't been painted yet. It will need SEVERAL coats! And we have several days of rain coming up. We choose to paint only in the evenings because the hot sun hits it all day long until evening. So with a chance of thunderstorms... we are not getting very far. Even early in the morning is pretty warm out there. DD leaves for SR camp this weekend. I am dreading it. It is too far away, I should of never said yes. She will be riding with people from church.. and her "crush" is riding with them. I told the driver to watch them, because they like each other and we are strict about that. I sure hope she does.

I have an appointment with someone to check whether I have been doing what is necessary to receive unemployment. It is ridiculous, but I am nervous, as I have never had to show for one of these before (in the past, I always had a job before the appointment). I think Brandon slept in this morning...I don't think he is at swim team, but I don't want to open their door to check because they need their sleep, and besides, it's too late for him to get there.

Brandon woke up and zipped off to the pool saying he would ask if he can swim with the 11 and under group! LOL I guess he really likes swimming?

I know there is a Proverb that says (in either NIV or NLT): quote:
A fool ruins his own life and blames it on the Lord. I have made my whiners memorize it if they would choose to get out of a consequence. It has never had any instantaneous results, but I'm planting for the future, kwim? And I have a story to go along with it. An air conditioner repair man was at the house. When he noticed my Bible out, he proceeded to tell me that he was also a preacher and about a few answers to prayer he had received once upon a time. Then he went into whining about his wife and his impending divorce and how unfair it was for God to put him through this trial! No, I did not make this up! After that he tried to sell me a new air conditioner unit I did not need. When he left, I picked up my One Year Bible and that was the Proverb of the day! A fool ruins his own life and blames it on the Lord. I said a prayer for his soon-to-be-ex-wife and gave glory to God for my day's object lesson. Okay, I am leaving to pick up my new Japanese foreign exchange student. You all have a great day! Praying for your interview, Jenn; for your strength today, tired Ellie-Mae, for Donna and Brian, for Zoe's family and financial situation and for all of us parents! (Lord we need you so!)

I've been doing lots. It is much easier that way. I had a lady bargain with me, she bought 2 of my lots ( a lot of 15 and a lot of 9) right after I listed them. It was nice that I could just do a Buy It Now and get them out of here, even though they were listed as an auction. I still have a lot of 17 and an even bigger lot of 50.

Sue, I was wondering how Jake is doing since he was released from the military. Has he found direction?

It's been up and down. He seems to be doing a little better right now. He got a job at Farm King, a local department store that specializes in farm and hunting supplies, and he really likes it. He hasn't been eating very healthy for someone that wants to lose weight, but he bikes several miles to work. He told me today that, between biking and the fact that he can't eat at work, he's lost six pounds. He's not nearly as sullen as he was the first couple of weeks, but he's no ball of fire either. God seems to keep finding ways to remind me that Jake is a work in progress. Patience has never been my strong suit, but we keep trying to guide him in the right way and pray that he'll eventually get it on his own. Thanks for asking.

That's progress, Sue. Has there been any significant improvement in his feet?

His feet are terrific now. All he needed was the proper orthodic. The doctor didn't even have to make a custom pair for him. He just modified an over the counter set. I don't know if the situation with the army doc was just a fluke, or if it was just God's way of putting Jake on a different path. I think the military is great, but God may just have other plans for him. I don't remember if I cleared this point up, but Jake did get orthodics in the army. They just didn't fit right. His arches are significantly different in each of his feet and they just gave him a set that worked for the one with the higher arch. That didn't fit his other foot, so he took it out and then was off balance. It seems like it would have been a simple fix, so I'm not sure why they sent him home. Since he was set back with the pneumonia, maybe they just didn't want to deal with it.

It's too bad people often do not realize the serious consequences their decisions may have on people. Is Jake still considering the Air Force?

(((((Rebekah))))) Yes, Jake is still considering the Air force, but they won't consider him unless he weighs under 208 or has a neck to waist difference of less than 20. He was within 30 pounds of the weight goal when he saw the recruiter, but inactivity and poor eating was causing the pounds to pack back on. Our nagging wasn't helping, so we decided keep quiet and just require that he get a job. Now that he's out more and getting exercise, the weight is coming back down. We'll just have to see what happens.

Apparently it was a yeast rash. I have been doing all the right things since Monday... just need to be more agressive about it.

His, I am thinking about putting up a poster at church for people to sign up for the Fun Run. I don't really know a whole lot about hosting a run. Any advise or ideas will be welcome. I have been wearing thin, but things are still coming together anyway. We are having an opening service on Friday the first. On Tuesday, we will have the His Chosen fun Run. On Friday we are having a concert! Someone has volunteered to have a mandatory activity for the kids while supper is being made and set. I am hoping that we will have wonderful time fellowshipping, but not forget all the things that God has done for us. I am starting to get excited! In the plans for future years: We are already plan for the next year as well. I was hoping to be able to eat in the gym this year, but we weren't able to get the new floor in. Hopefully it will be there next year. We are also hoping to have another game available next year called Carpet Ball as wwell as a couple of other games. There are other stuff, but these we are hoping we can do soon.

Thank you who prayed. I think my appointment went well. Tomorrow Nate and my little sister and I are going to the free showing of Nim's Island. I have wanted to see that!

I have been wanting to see it since they mailed me a unit study book on it for free. Unfortunately my kidlets are too old for the unit study! But I read through it and thought the movie sounded wonderful, and I like Abigail Breslin. There are animals in it, so Nate should be happy, and my sister sounded happy to go as well. Brandon can't come, he's working at the pool. Btw, his attitude is somewhat better today, but for the most part he's gotten to do what he pleases. He is doing the dishes now, though, and other than asking if Nate could do them instead, hasn't comlained. We have not yet gotten to Algebra.
