Donna, With the situation the way it is, I would absolutely not put any kind of lock on Nick’s door which could lock him in. All sorts of terrible things could be implied and then trumped up. Just don’t do it.
There is a solution to the problem with Nick and the bedroom. Put up curtain rods on three sides of your bed and hang curtains. Pull them around the bed during private times. Hang a bell on Nick’s doorknob, so you will hear the bell ring if he gets up and goes into your room. The curtains could look very pretty and romantic. No one would even realize their practical use.
Ask around if anyone has extra curtains or fabric that you could use. You could even use old sheets for a while, until you can save up for something pretty.

The doors I was thinking of bungeeing together are the ones that go from your room to the bathroom and your room to his room. This would work with the above suggestion of having a hook on the wall that you hang a robe or something from. You could even just use the belt from the robe to tie to the doorknob and to the hook.
I still like the romantic curtains idea, but the other ideas are significantly cheaper.

Yeah, Nike will probably get benadryl next time, although it really doesn't sedate her all that much. Ashley doesn't get knocked out from benadryl either. Irritating.  I totally agree that you need to try the benadryl before you need the dog to be sedated, because some do get wired on it. I think the next time I see my vet I am gonna ask her if I can have a few benzos for Nike, because she is getting worse. She's ok if we're home, but if the boom booms happen when we're all asleep or when we're out, she gets so anxious that she poops in the house.  She never used to do that. We've tried crating/confining her but she gets out of everything we put her in, so I'm thinking a good long nap is in order next time.
I have the most miserable beagle on the planet right now. She gave herself a huge granuloma on her butt, so she is now wearing an Elizabethan collar. She hates it and is really depressed. She refuses to eat or drink with it on, so we take it off for a few minutes periodically throughout the day. She is also convinced that she is now handicapped and can't possibly go outside (either that, or she's embarassed to be seen by the dog across the street  ), so we have to put her on a leash and coax her to walk outside as opposed to just letting her out the back door. She just lies on her cushion and looks at you with those pathetic beagle eyes. I feel bad for her, but OTOH it's pretty funny.

Praying for the job, Jen. It sounds like it would be perfect for you.
We just got back from Goat Fest (little local event with demos, stuff for sale, etc.) and someone there was selling a hot maple BBQ sauce. They had tastes available, so the girls tasted it and liked it. I bought some along with a few other maple based sauces they were selling. My dh just tasted the BBQ, and I think we have a problem. He just told me I need to buy it by the gallon.  That stuff was not cheap!

I like the curtains idea too!
Cynthia is right. It would not be wise to make Nick ever thing that he has been locked in his room. Don't risk it. Wioth the way that he likes to make up stories, it could be really bad.

I have a question. Rebekah has started peeing her bed more, and lately has been peeing her pants and leaking. It is smelly. She is otherwise fine and dandy. What kind of things can I check or treat her for myself? I would like to try doing stuff myself first. I don't think that she would take kindly to a dr examining her private areas. I would like to avoid it if this something that I can help her with. OR do I need to take her to the drs. I also hate how quick many drs are to prescribe antibiotics that seem to bring on yeast infections and tummy troubles.

Lisa, one of the big red flags for a UTI is day/night wetting in a toilet trained child. She needs to see her doc. They are not likely to examine her privates. They will ask for a urine sample and dip it.

I was afraid of that, but I am glad that they won't examine her. I haven't come across this kind of thing much with the kids. Will cranberry juice or capsuls help?

We are hoping to leave for a week starting Monday night so I will need to act fast and not waste time. Off to the doc on monday it is then. I just hope that I can get her in.
We are celebrating Sarah's birthday tonight. She chose pizza for dinner. She wanted me to make this cake that looked like strawberries. Nobody bothered to tell me that we are out of Pam and the cake stuck to the pan. Also, one of the adults decided to put the shelf in the oven crooked (you have to try to do that) and I didn't check to see that the shelves were put in correctly because I just assumed that I was surrounded by responsible adults who wouldn't do anything like that and the cakes came out lopsided as well as stuck to the pans. Anyway. I ended up making strawberry ice cream cakes... I am just glad that Sarah likes them. 
I guess we will be celebrating my birthday tomorrow. I think that I may ask for chocolate ice cream for my dinner. It is one of the few things that I can actually taste. seriously.
My poor mother was joking about my being able to taste chocolate. She didn't know that I can't taste most chocolate now... she was in shock. I can taste it if it is chocolate ice cream or in really good coffee. So far, if it is like a chocolate bar or cookies... I can't taste it. On the good side... I am loosing weight! Most of the time, I am only eating enough to make myself comfortable. It is hard to eat what cannot be tasted.If I was Sarah, I would be anxious to be pregnant again.

That will not work. I would have major claustrophobia issues and would not be able to even have sex with my husband likely. Yes, I am serious. I am not going to modify my life and room that much. No. That may sound harsh, but no.

I am not understanding this one. I'm not sure it would work, since the door opens inward toward his room? And there is nothing but the thin door frame between the bathroom/bedroom and bedroom/bedroom door. It's hard to explain, but there's nothing to hook to there.

I agree. But if you are in need of a great female pediatrician's name for future for your girls, PM me. The one we are switching Hannah to works behind the hospital. Hannah has seen her several times. She has a little girl Hannah's age and a new baby boy. She is WONDERFUL with kids and with parents. Very thorough and not condescending. My mom works in that office and she has also told me they see several large hs family there, so they are used to that end also. We'll be bringing the new baby there (boy or girl ) because they are willing to work with me on spreading out vaccines too.
Lisa, would Consecrated Lisa or Emily know about the barre height?

Strange things going on where I work. We've had a hard time getting enough staff and the hospital allowed us to hire a rent-a-tech for third shift for the summer. I met him two weeks ago, nice guy, probably 40 years old. Anyway, last Monday he called to say he'd be late and then called back to say he wouldn't be in. No one has heard anything from him since and he's not answering his phone. The agency is concerned for his safety because he's never done anything like this before, and he's been with them for years. His name is Ted if anyone wants to pray for him.
