Kim-I hope that the your dh was able to get the care he needed last evening. Was he admitted?

Garsy-Sorry about Zoe's finger.

Kylie-Is your daughter feeling better this morning?

Kath-Glad your neuro. didn't see anything that concerned him.

Concerning Donna: I haven't seen any updates since last evening, but her dh is the sole financial upport and a truck driver. Donna is approx. 7 (?) months pregnant. According to a post her dh has multiple compound fractures to his leg, a broken arm, a broken pelvis, and possibly a collapsed lung.

Julia, she's just gone to bed with a bucket. J is also complaining of a stomach ache. Hopefully they're both better when they wake tomorrow morning.

More on Donna and hubby

quote:

peculiar_lady2

ok...just got off the phone with Donna again. As Lisa said, broken bones in his left arm and leg...compound fractures (bone came through the skin) so they had to repair that with surgery. As far as they could tell he didn't have internal or brain injuries....small issues with the lungs (collapse of the lung I think she said?). He also has a broken pelvis, but they aren't really dealing with that right now...trying to get the more severe stuff taken care of first. He will be there at least a week.
The basic story....
they usually take two vehicles to church so she can usher the kids home for nap and he can stay to chit chat more....luckily he didn't have Noah with him like he usually does. Donna passed a tractor that was too wide for the road and she even had to slam on her breaks to get past it. Evidently though Brian got to it on a curve, so he didn't know it was there (and she is pretty sure it was over the line like it was when she came to it). He usually talks at church before, so she stayed there for a while, but when they released the kids to children's church and he still wasn't there she went to look for him. She got to the scene about the time they got him out of the car and she said there were tons of rescue and medical people there.

She said she is doing ok....they joked with her that they don't deliver there so she can't go into labor or they will have to ship her off somewhere else...lol. (Jessica...she joked that he was trying to one-up Paul...lol). People are making sure she eats...and their church prayer chain is going, along with people volunteering to help out with the kids. I asked how the kids are taking this and she said she talked to Noah, not the others, and he is ok. She is trying to stay positive and knows God is going to work things out.

They appreciate the prayers

Found this posted in the SAHM thread in Women's. This is jest of things and I'm certain more updates will be posted there!

Makes Zoe's little cut seem piddly.

We are off to the Zoo today.

More later,

Garsy

I am sorry that I haven't been in hear for a long time actually since school let out well now it's time to go back to school. We are moving 12 hours away from where we are now. There school starts on Sept. 19th. So we will barely be in and getting settled by the time school starts. They are going from wearing uniforms to wearing there own clothes. This school system has won all kinds of awards for their school. The one they are coming from was fined for what they aren't doing. So we are going to much better place also. At this school if the kids aren't doing their homework or classwork. They can go to detention for no reason then to make them do their work. I be that's an incentative something that only has to happen one time. I personally don't have any problem with it.

Hey - I nailed it!

DeeDee's birthday is the 6th!

On that bright note, I'm going to bed. I can't do better than remembering a date. I joke I delivered DeeDee on the 6th so I only had to learn a month, (Big Bee is 6-6) I'm awful with dates and ages.

Oh, drats - I had to come back to see if you said 3 weeks before or 3 after. Hmm. Three before, Susan's birthday. My surgury date. Week before school. I can do this...

Yeah ... I'm due on the 15th of August ...

Mind you, the comment about it being the week before school threw me ... I'm in Ontario, Canada ... school starts the day after Labour Day ...

(And for the record, the only reason I even remembered Donna's date is because I keep teasing her about possible queue jumping, since I quite often deliver late!)

Wow. I didn't know that had happend to Donna's husband. We have farm equipment driving around all over here too. It can get tricky when you can't see them around those bends.

Momma, what surgery are you having? I am so glad that my hospital stays have been limited to babies.

Hi to everyone else!

Hi FAWIHTT, That sounds so much better! When do you move?

Mbee, see, you do have brain cells left. The kids didn't kill them all off.

Only they don't kill them off - they just steal them and hide them and then when we want them back they've forgotten where they are hidden!

Blessings,

When they have wide loads being transported here they have to have cars with flashing lights travelling with it. It's not much if you're coming up to it from behind, but sometimes that flashing light is just enough warning.

J and X both stayed home today. I had two messes to clean up before heading into work this morning.

I know where they are - with the socks.

Surgury was LAST year. Emergency gall bladder removal. Which has a real name, but I can't spell it. I remember the date because we were supposed to go to Kennywood that day.

Well I can testify that the socks really do get eaten by the washer. I moved and everything is unpacked, yet I still haven't found the matches to the socks I have in my mismatch box.

As for the brain cells, mine must be hidden very well because I can't find them. Oh well, I guess that is just a good excuse to forget to do the dishes or the laundry. You think that will fly?

We do the same here, but if you are on the county highways in a farming area, it is not uncommon that there is huge equipment using the road. They do get to do that, and you have to be VERY watchful because sometimes it is easier to avoid a deer that runs out in front of you from the woods than a huge tractor that is around a bend. I think the only time heavy things get an escort here is if they are on a semi truck being transported on the freeway. But the county highways are single lane each way and usually there are trees on either side of the street.

I am not sure how it is where Donna lives, but probably much the same.

Same here. Tractors in the country rarely have an escort, even on the highway. We just have to watch out.

Errgh - DeeDee just called. She was invited to VBS. This family knows that we are unchurched and why. They also know that we will not worship there. (theological differences) They get a prize for bringing a friend. So, the young lady goes by herself on Monday, calls a neighbor Tuesday and brings her for the rest of the week and then calls DeeDee to go on Wednesday. So, she gets two gifts. This is the 4th year she has called her after it started.

If she was genuinely concerned about winning souls, wouldn't she invite everyone on Monday?

And, Mom knows that I work and can't drive her but the young lady didn't offer to pick her up or give DeeDee the time. I knew it from talking to Mom two months ago.

I think I will sit down and teach DeeDee a verse tonight. "It is by faith you are saved, by grace, and not by works." Isn't that how it goes? They don't invite DeeDee to sing at the nursing homes, they don't invite her to Sunday night services or Wednesday night programs. Just VBS. Must not get candy for those events.

Oh, did my cynicism show?

Yeah, but I understand it.

It would annoy me too.

Poppa said his mouth got ahead of his brain and he said to DeeDee that he didn't think it was nice to wait until the middle of the week to invite her and she explained that Monday is just for the people who go to church there...

I love how she justified it. Which would be why I don't like her going to Bible school there - she is too maliable.

I think I remember this discussion last year and I said that I didn't want her to go unless Poppa took us to church someplace else and he hasn't.
