Blah, that stuff tastes about as good as putting an old pair of socks in the coffee maker.

I get grief from my entire family because I can't drink that stuff either. (dare I call it coffee), they call me the Coffee snob. In all reality, my stomach can't handle it, not to mention there is no real flavor. I am sure that some don't put as much effort into coffee as others do, me personally, I have a coffee machine in my home that cost me upwards of a grand! So, yeah, I put some time and effort into the coffee I drink.

Well, a personal preference, huh? I hate dark, strong coffee. I couldn't afford Starbucks even if it actually tasted good.

Wes, there are coffees out there that are not as strong as say the espresso beans that are used in alot of the concoctions that Starbucks comes up with. Try their Breakfast blend or the Lightnote Blend. Coffees that generally come from South America are a lighter brighter flavor to mild, and not the dark roast that you'll find in French Roasts or Italian Roasts.

Maybe one day! Thanks for the info. For right now, I am using a coffee maker that cost me upwards of $30, so....no worries. [sm=cooltilt.gif]

I never got the appeal, myself. And I think their practice of setting up across from small, independent coffee shops is disgraceful.

Why? The small, indepentant stores just need to be more competitive than the chains. I am sure they can be more competitive on price, atmosphere, service, hours, etc.

Volume is the number one aspect of price reduction. That is typically impossible in a small business.

There are lots of different blends of Starbucks coffee. My grandmother used to say the same thing until we got her hooked on Christmas Blend. Now she rations it so it will last past the holidays. [:D]

They serve Folders and Maxwell House at my workplace and both give me heartburn and stomach aches. I have no idea why. At home we drink Starbucks and Chock Full o' Nuts and I never have that problem.

YES! Stomach Aches, me too... Severe stomach aches too...My brother served up some Wal-mart brand coffee once that just about killed me, (figuratively speaking of course)

I am one of the fortunate ones. I could eat garbage and have no problems!

I am sorry that you guys suffer though. [:o]

Heh, heh! I can brew a full pot of Folgers or Maxwell House every morning for about .35 or .40. Pity they are closing! [8D]

Blah, that stuff tastes about as good as putting an old pair of socks in the coffee maker.

I don't get coffee out that often, but will readily admit that most of it tastes better than anything I have at home.

I have a solution for you. This is the best coffee there is. It makes all others taste meh.

Folgers and Maxwell House are low grade beans

We just got another Starbucks right in the area where I live. I live not far from a strip mall, which has a stand-alone store at one end of the parking lot. Well, now, if you drive down to the opposite end of the same parking lot, you will see another Starbucks--probably about 1, maybe 2 city block distance away. I guess if the line at one is too long, I won't have to go far to get my fix. As you can see by my name, I am a Starbucks addict. I don't mind the coffee, since I like really strong coffee. Anyway, I don't think they will suffer from closing 600 stores--all you'd have to do is go an extra block to get to the next one anyway.

This is the same thing that happened with Krispy Kreme's. Over saturation isn't always a good thing.

Well they are everywhere, plus there are kiosks in tons of places like Kroger, so its not like you can't get one if you need one. Coffee drinkers know what I mean.

I like McDonald's coffee better. But there are a lot of competitors to starbucks, I can literally get a coffee on every corner if I wanted too.

Really? The nearest one to me is about 30 miles away. [sm=icon_smile_boggled.gif] But then I'm not a big coffee drinker anyway... maybe a cup every month or so.
