There is no set pattern for how a person is supposed to grieve because it varies from person to person. However, most mental health professionals would agree that there are generally 5 stages of grieving and we can oscillate between them in any order. Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance. These are called stages instead of steps because steps imply they happen in a particular order when they don't.
