Not too fast, OneOfHisJewels this is one Christian, who if she were single, would consider going on a show like the Bachelor! Why? Because I'd have a 1 in 25 chance of winning but who knows if it is anyone I'd care to win or not? No one does until they meet the person. I'd enjoy going on it just for a lark. For a new experience. If I don't wind up with this person, what have I lost? Some time perhaps? but that happens with folks we date anyway. Isn't it just great to meet other people? .(Your so-called competitors included?) I enjoy people....sure some are catty but so what? There is usually at least one interesting thing about everyone else I meet. You may make more friends. Embarass myself in front of other people? I've done plentyof that...it would be nothing new. I don't think I'm so special that I can expect never to be embarassed....certainly if one were to be embarassed on national TV it may make you get over yourself. I don't feel that many people have embarassed themselves on that show. ONly the ones who've been nasty to others. I would have no plans to be such. YOu share kisses and snuggles? Pshaw! Tell me, did you only date one man - your husband? If you dated more than one, did you not in a sense "share kisses and snuggles"? Hmmm. Your last reason..."very few of the couples stay together or get married." Most folks I know have had to date at least a few people to find the right "one". Folks who go on this show only have the benefit of a couple of months acquaintence. It is no surprise to me that they should discover after a time of dating only each other that the other is not suitable for one reason or another. This is the case more often than not. In conclusion, what is wrong with taking a chance? Nothing ventured nothing gained. Sure, you may be hurt, embarassed, or snuggled to pieces but the fact is that if you do nothing, nothing will happen. If you try different things something will happen. Taking chances is what makes life interesting and eventually leads us to our spouse. I am not sure that there were no Christians on any of these episodes. I had rather thought the opposite. Yours for taking a risk. [:D] Sudden quote:
ORIGINAL: OneOfHisJewels why anyone would go on a show like the Bachelor....you only have a 1 in 25 chance of winning, you potentially embarrass yourself in front of millions...and you share kisses and snuggles with other women, in a sense, as the guy basically has a harem. Plus other than Trista and Ryan(who met on a reverse bachellorette anyway)..very few of the final couples ever stay together and/or get married. Plus, there is so MUCH cattiness..yech[:'(]. I'm glad that we as christians have the sense to stay off shows like that.
