Beth67 -> Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? (7/4/2008 1:58:59 AM)

My husband and I have fun debating such issues. [:)]

What does everyone else think?

DreadPirateRandy -> RE: Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? (7/4/2008 2:01:35 AM)

Why wouldn't they?

Beth67 -> RE: Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? (7/4/2008 2:06:27 AM)

They were created, not born. Hence, there was no need for an umbilical cord.

Purposeful_Life -> RE: Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? (7/4/2008 2:16:53 AM)

My view is that Adam DID have a belly button.

Not by biological need [as indeed he did not have an umbilical attachment to his mother]

However

All the guys would have poked fun at him in the showers - so God gave him one to avoid the ridicule.

Was it an "innie" or an "outie"?

SonInMe1 -> RE: Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? (7/4/2008 5:50:42 AM)

God took the rib out through Adam's belly...hence...

belly button.

mvic -> RE: Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? (7/4/2008 6:36:53 AM)

When Adam was lonely in the the Garden of Eden he asked God for company. God promised him a lovely woman who would always be by his side; she will love him always, care for him, listen to him attentively at all times, and never ever contradict him.

"How much will all this cost?" asked Adam.

God smiled and said jokingly "An arm and a leg".

"What do I get for a rib?"

SonInMe1 -> RE: Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? (7/4/2008 2:55:42 PM)

...and Adam should not have asked for a vegan.

No meat hung from the Tree of Life.

MrFribbles -> RE: Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? (7/4/2008 3:32:19 PM)

Perhaps a better question would be... How many angels could have danced in Adam's belly button?

Neither. Since it was unnecessary it was a phony.

Purposeful_Life -> RE: Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? (7/5/2008 2:38:42 AM)

I understand I am making a couple of assumptions here but:

If he had one and If it was an innie

did he have fluff? and was it blue?

or am I getting carried away now?

Phony? You mean they had prosthetic belly buttons? Covered by their fig leaves but not their HMO, right?

What about belly-button piercings, did they have those?

thedivabrat -> RE: Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? (7/5/2008 12:05:18 PM)

Well if he had one it was perfect--so then the ? which is perfect innie or outie--if only we knew.

As to interesting(?)discussions--when we are living on the new earth for all eternity--and if it is perfect like the Garden before the fall--will we be naked?

humbleinspirit -> RE: Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? (7/5/2008 12:06:58 PM)

Maybe he didn't have one because there was no lint that had been invented yet. [sm=tonguehappy.gif]

tapestry -> RE: Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? (7/5/2008 2:01:28 PM)

I think they did not have belly buttons. They where the first and therefore unique and will for all times stand out as different. No innies or outies, no anything, just perfectly smooth bellies. (something we all have to exercise like crazy to get!)

makarizo -> RE: Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? (7/5/2008 2:46:48 PM)

my guess.....
when adam was in the garden, no, he didn't have a belly button, and when he was kicked out of the garden, yes, he did have a bellybutton.

mvic -> RE: Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? (7/5/2008 3:22:33 PM)

So did he have an Adam's apple before or after he was kicked out of the garden?

(Rev 7:9) After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

Thanks

You might want to start your own thread with that question as it will pull this thread off topic. Thanks

Cordless people...

thedivabrat -> RE: Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? (7/6/2008 2:08:27 PM)

And they had great reception UNTIL they messed around and went with an inferior provider.

Funny!

Does it really matter?

God bless you as you seek to know Jesus more and more.

Not at all. But with all of the "heavy" topics we have around here, a little light-hearted fun kinda helps break things up a little.

Covaan_Meshuga -> RE: Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? (7/7/2008 2:59:34 AM)

Anybody who knows anything will know that Adam did. When G-d checked the oven, Adam looked brown enough, but just to be sure, He poked His finger in the center to make sure. Everyone knows that if it's done, it will bounce back. Adam wasn't done yet, so He baked him five minutes more.

So when Adam was done, G-d pulled him out, looked at him, and said, "I can do better."
