We need to pray for Sheri Easter & her breast cancer. Pray they caught it early enough to arrest it. We, also, need to pray for Tony Greene & the situation with his need for a kidney transplant. Pray it happens soon. Both of these servants of God have strong faiths & I know God is taking care of them but it still has to be scary for them. We need to bathe them & their families in prayer.

Sometime this week. I believe Tues or Wed. I got e-mail from BSA this morning about it. Was on gaither yesterday.

We will be praying for these two also.

This was in Sheri's blog on the gaither website:

I found the lump last October, scheduled a mammogram, received the news that it was normal and lived with a false security until last week when an online nosedive into the percentage of reliability of mammograms sent me rushing to schedule another check up.

Disturbing, isn't it?

I nearly cried when I read the news of Sheri Easter. Not because I feel God can't heal her, but because I know HE CAN heal her, just as He has promised. Reading it was shocking. I read the lines of their song Over and Over, and again I nearly cried. I have looked up to Sheri Easter for some time, and never pictured her going through something like this, but as she said in her blog "I may not be able to schedule life, but I am assured that God can." Connie Hopper battled breast cancer and was healed, I am believing the same thing for Sheri Easter! God not only was the healer, but he IS the healer!! I believe that with all of my heart and I am praying for Sheri and Jeff and their families.

For Tony I am still praying that his transplant happens soon. I love the Greenes, and especially Tony's humor! He is a lovable guy, and I hope and pray that everything happens soon for him.

Update on Sherri Easter from Libbi Stuffle:

Sheri is going in the hospital this coming Tuesday to have surgery to have a mastectomy. They will not know until then if it is in the lymph nodes or not. Please pray that the cancer is NOT in the lymph nodes and that everything will go great during the surgery. Sheri has a great out look on this situation, but covets the prayers of all who will pray!!! Please add her to your prayer list, church prayer list and prayer chains. We are all family in Southern Gospel Music and when one hurts we all hurt. I will try to keep you updated as updates are available. We are believing God for a great miracle for Sheri!!!!

According to a new update on the Gaither site, all of Sheri's lymph nodes are clear and cancer-free!! Praise the Lord! We still need to remember her and the family in prayer as she recovers from this surgery.

Smokymtnsanta -> RE: Sheri Easter & Tony Greene (7/11/2008 6:44:23 PM)

Received this in an email:

Friday, June 11, 2008 2:00 PM: BSA reports a health update on Sheri
Easter after a conversation today with Jeff Easter. Sheri is home
from the hospital recovering from sugery this weekend while Jeff and
the rest of the Easter's fulfill their concert dates. During the
surgery Doctors removed 20 lymph nodes. Doctors informed Jeff
yesterday that two tested positive for cancer. Sheri will take chemo
treatments in which the extent of treatments will be determined by her
Doctors next Thursday. Jeff and Sheri want to thank everyone for
their outpouring of love, concern and prayers during these difficult
days. Your daily prayers are most needed and appreciated.

hopperfan -> RE: Sheri Easter & Tony Greene (7/11/2008 7:54:29 PM)

I just read where two of the 20 lymph nodes they removed tested as cancer, and Sheri will have to have Chemo. I am praying for her.

Has anyone heard or read anything about Tony?

frances67 -> RE: Sheri Easter & Tony Greene (7/12/2008 11:54:05 AM)

Keeping both of them and their families in my prayers.

rashmore -> RE: Sheri Easter & Tony Greene (7/18/2008 12:02:15 AM)

Just read Sheri's latest blog found both on her own website and the gaith site. Here it is:

---I've been quiet lately. I find that I hear much better when I'm not talking. Now more than ever, I simply want to hear God's voice. There have been many decisions for which I needed direction and many voices speaking encouragement, and I've enjoyed listening.
On Tuesday, July 8, I underwent a mastectomy. With my family history, we thought this would be the best course of action. In hindsight, I am certain we made the right choice. I am healing well, and have received so many, many phone calls, emails and cards--may God bless each of you for your deep concern and prayers you are offering.
I am physically healing as the doctors expected and emotionally fragile as you can well assume. I had a "crash and burn" moment just last night. All the "what ifs", "why me's" and "it's just not fair's" fell into Jeff's arms and he held me while I cried. This morning, I am grateful for a caring husband, and incredibly understanding children, in addition to encouraging news from my oncologist.
We are in a state of grace when I report that we have chosen to have chemotherapy as a preventive measure, in doing all that we can to become 100% cancer free. My treatments will begin in the latter part of August, and continue through mid-December. Please continue to pray for our family as we walk through this journey into healing. According to the oncologist, I should have more than one reason to celebrate this Christmas!---

May God be with her and her family at this time and I pray that she will be 100% cancer free by the end of the year, if not before!

My thoughts and prayers are with you , Sherri and Jeff.
May you be completely healed in the NAME of JESUS.

hopperfan -> RE: Sheri Easter & Tony Greene (7/20/2008 7:38:03 PM)

I spoke briefly to Kim Friday night about Tony, she said that he was doing well. He did well during and after surgery, and he is working hard to be on the road so soon, but he is doing well, and traveling.

Smokymtnsanta -> RE: Sheri Easter & Tony Greene (7/24/2008 12:54:29 AM)

From the Greene's newsletter:

Last week, Tony went through a pretty major surgery. As you may know, he has been in declining health over the past seven years with Renal Failure. And the time finally came to go to the next step in his treatment. He underwent what they call a Tenk-Hoff surgery. For those of us who don't have a clue what that means, it's a kind of catheter they inserted into his peritoneal cavity to begin dialysis. He is going to begin dialysis in a couple of weeks as soon as the site is healed completely. He is doing very well. His pain is almost gone now, and he is very much looking forward to feeling better. The doctors are saying that once he begins the treatment, he will be feeling like a new person. Of course there are risks with it, but I know God has everything right in His hand and knows exactly what's going on.

Santa, I thought Tony was going to get a transplant. Has that been canceled? (or am I just confused???[8D])

mommicked -> RE: Sheri Easter & Tony Greene (7/24/2008 10:02:20 AM)

he's still going to get the transplant -just needs time----[:)]

mrspeed2626 -> RE: Sheri Easter & Tony Greene (7/24/2008 12:20:15 PM)

According to Tony at their concert in Terrell, TX Saturday night, TaRanda is a perfect match and will be donating her kidney. However, they have to wait until their new baby is one year old before they will operate on TaRanda. Therefore, they have to wait until at least April to have the transplant. This is why they had to go ahead and do Tony's surgery and dialysis so Tony would be strong and healthy for the surgery in April. Tony also mentioned that their part of the costs for the transplant will be $60,000, so please keep buying the Greene's product as this goes directly to fund Tony's transplant.
