Hi LL~ I don't know if this is appropriate but wanted to share my American Pie parody: They printed it in my town but I had to condense it, so this is the version I will give you, btw: Happy Independence Day, it i also long for those who wish to read it: Not so long ago I remember how life use to be and I know if we took the chance we'd give our testimonial stance maybe some would join or some would flee But 911 gave everyone the chills Headlines flooding from the mills bad news from the the Pentegon 1/2 their building is now gone I remember as I cried when I saw the twin tower demise Something reached me deep inside the Day The people cried Saying Lord Lord don't turn you back on us Eventhough we no longer accept in God we trust We want you to denfend us this day Come on hear your people pray So who wrote this book on love and where's your faith in God above Do you believe Jesus can save your soul? Can you teach others to know? Well I know I have life in Him, but I saw you praying in the gym. Prayers aren't allowed in school, yet love those Gospel tunes Blaring siren from a fire truck where people are running and some others did duck the day the people cried It's been two years since the towers fell as someone rang the Liberty Bell Come on United we stand When Bin Laden had fled the seen Saddam Hussien came marching in the green Singing hate songs to you and me Bush in prayer said send our troops, Saddam and his sons fled the coop The war we thought was over, but they were just taking cover While people looked for Victory A gay bishop elected in the rectory He kicked off his shoes, but where are the Godly rules? The day the people cried Crime no longer pays in time but uses up the tax payers dime The house doesn't pass it fast Because they want their seat to last Now as people stood in outrage as the continued on a new page We all had a chance But noone would take a stance Everyone wants the field leaving it for satan to steal The day the people cried As the war continued through the night did we see the sacrifial light? I met a soldier who marched in tune thougth he was coming home soon But his smiled faded away He's already been through Desert Strom Now for him it's just the norm All newcomers a Saviour is born In the streets is mass destruction and everyone pays for reconstruction and many churches go their separate way And whose eyes are on the Host Father, Son and Holy Ghost He's the one we need the most the day the people Cried (C) CRH 2004 (condensed)
