quote:
JONI EARECKSON TADA "I think God is especially honored when we offer a sacrifice of praise. He is glorified when we offer a sacrifice of praise. He is glorified when we offer words of adoration wrenched from a painehed and bruised heart...... Most of the verses written about praise in God's Word were penned by men and women who faced crushing heartaches, injustice, treachery, slander and scores of other intolerable situations." I did not actually realise this until I read these words of Joni. Q - What are your favourite scriptures in times of adversity, etc and how do they encourage you? --------------------------------------------------------------------- P.S. Whilst writing this thread, my toaster went on fire and the fire alarm did not go off as quickly as it should have! The kitchen I cleaned thoroughly yesterday will need to be thoroughly cleaned again to get rid of the smoke particles which have accumilated around it and all the worktops, etc! The stink of smoke in the house is horrible! I hate the smell of burnt toast!!!!!!!!!!!!! It stinks for days. Although this is nothing like on the scale of the situations which the Psalmist David or even more up-to-date people like Joni Eareckson Tada have faced, I can still praise God that the whole house did not catch fire and that we are alerted to a faulty fire alarm so we can have it repaired in the event of something worse [sm=angel.gif]
