jchaz -> New Desire On Daystar "Celebration" Show (7/10/2008 10:24:25 PM)

I just finished watching one of the BEST television interviews on any Christian Network that I think I've ever seen. It featured Southern Gospel group, "New Desire" from Aragon, GA, and Dr. Brenda Robinson. Whether anyone realizes it or not, it was somewhat of a homerun for the SG community. I don't think Daystar really has had many SG groups on their flagship show. Hopefully, this will change! I know they have some SG programming, but i don't think the feature it on this nightly show too much.

I maybe a little partial, because I used to work for New Desire, but I thought they've never looked or sounded better. The group got to sing "It Doesn't Matter Who You Are", and Brenda was a featured guest with Joni & Marcus Lamb, founders of this great network. I especially enjoyed their excitement as Dan & Brenda shared about Brenda's healing of severe grand mal epileptic seizures.

(Side note: I really miss hanging out with Brother Dan. He's a spiritual mentor of mine. If you happen to see htis, remember: "I love ya, Brother!")

Anyway, I'm reasonably sure that you can stream the show from the Daystar website, and -- if you read this quick enough, and are a nightowl -- I think it replays tonight at 2am EST.

If you need a blessing, I encourage you to watch the show. I'm SO proud of the recent TV exposre they've received, and I encourage you to check out ND's website for more info about Brenda's show on AngelOne and NRB.

Seems like the SG industry hasn't quite taken to them yet, but if people would only give these guys a chance, we'd see a tremendous revival within "the camp", so to speak.

They are "The Real Deal". I know.

note: This WAS NOT something they've asked me to say or mention. I just felt like sharing my heart with you, my internet forum friends.

New Desire is a wonderful group. I love Brenda and her family. Any ladies who enjoy great music, fellowship and teaching should try to attend one of Brenda's conferences. She has a big one every February (the last two years it's been held at my church). Brenda's autobiography "Seized for His Glory" is an amazing book that shows how amazing God's grace really is - restoring a painful, ruined and wasted life to serve him in such a great way.

Here's a link: http://www.newdesire.org/conference (I hope it works) for the annual conference info.

Edit: okay, so the link doesn't work [sorry], but the web address is there...

Charlie,

I saw the show last night and was just as moved as you were. I LOVE New Desire! They are still just as real today as they were back in the days when you were with them. I remember those days!

I've heard Brenda's testimony so many times and was on the phone with Mom last night when they were on and she said the same thing I did...."I still get chill bumps every time Brenda shares her story!"

What an awesome family!

Glad to see New Desire doing so well. They are from my area and have done a great job with their ministry for a long time. Great!!
