Lets see, we're doing chicken & rice tonight. Then I'll have to hit my freezer to see what veggies I might have that the grand kids will eat.

Tonight we went to Smokey Bones BBQ--baby back ribs & brisket, bbq beans, corn, and cornbread. Sounds better than it tasted--it was good, just not great, and IMO not worth the price we paid.

I grilled hamburgers and steaks, enough to get my guys through the weekend while I'm working. We also had German potato salad, lettuce salad and corn on the cob. For dessert, brownies made with a cake mix, a can of pumpkin, an egg, a cup of water and some chocolate chips. Very moist and yummy.

sisrev, I wasn't too impressed with Smokey Bones, either. I've decided local BBQ is the best BBQ. And BBQ is my favorite food, mmmmmmm.

We're having cube steaks cooked in A-1 and polish sausage cooked with onions and bell pepper, fried squash out of the garden, and tater tots. Hubby's favorites (it's his birthday). He requested a strawberry cake with whipped vanilla frosting as well.

BBQ is one of my favorites, too! We are in a new town again, so we are still finding our way around. We decided, also, that next time we'd find somewhere more local.

Tonight we had chili dogs--quick & easy

German potato salad...mmm. Do you have a recipe for that. I had it at the German festival in Milwaukee and loved it.

It was too hot to cook. We had grilled cheese sandwiches, watermelon, fresh veggies, and jell-o salad.

We had bbq'd marinated chicken and steak with salads, followed by pecan danish, chocolate and vanilla icecream and custard.

We had friends over to dinner for the evening and were going to eat outside but it started raining just before dh finished cooking the meat.

Last night we had Taco Bell after church. Tonight I have chicken stir-fry on the menu, but I may bump something else into it's place. Not sure yet.

Roast turkey, corn or asparagus, mac and cheese, pasta with light Italian dressing and tomatoes, and..........black bean brownies for dessert. That sounds gross, but they were surprisingly good, and much lower in calories and higher in fiber than regular brownies.
