ARE WE GONNA HAVE A FORUMS POSTERS QUARTET?

We did last year. The only problem was that by the time they started singing, I was off to a showcase! Heard it was really good!

Don't believe everything you hear. (I only say that cause I was in it - the other guys rocked, though )

Well, I was in it, so it wasn't all that good.

We were hurt by not having a bit of time to practice--and by doing it acapella. We managed to make it through it, though, for all five who stayed around long enough.

But that's not to say I'd rule out doing it again. Hey, maybe we could talk Amerigrandpa into singing bass, provided he's not really a soprano or something.

BTW...Vidimide...being a native of Kentucky wouldn't they revoke your citizenship if you didn't like bluegrass music???

Bobby...what's this about a Posters Quartet??? It almost would be worth the price of the trip to come to hear that!!!!

Yes, Lynn, I've been told that's a must to maintain reasonably good standing...lol
Come on up so you can hear the Posters Quartet...I promise I won't sing...

Curious...why does Phil Cross need 3 1/2 hours for a showcase with the FBC Atlanta choir in Freedom Hall? I'm sure they're good, but is anyone going to sit that long for a choral event? It's the only afternoon event in Freedom Hall on Friday. Any thoughts?

For contrast, the Gaither/EH&SS showcase...which I suspect will be heavily attended...is only 2 hours.

I don't know about Phil Cross needing 3.5 hours, but the two hours I spent last year with my good friend (even though we have never met) Mike Speck, was the most enjoyable afternoon I have had in a long time. His musical "Heaven," which we previewed that afternoon, is one of the best I have ever heard. My little choir started practicing it last Sunday, and will perform it October 4th, at the morning service, in case you would like to hear it.

BTW, I have found out that I will not be able to attend NQC this year, much to my regret. Y'all are going to have to be strong and try and enjoy it without me.

zzzzzzzzzzzz

I loved the Mike Speck session, too! I am so disappointed that there won't be an Extravaganza session this year! Hate that you're going to miss it, but we'll buck up and stay strong and enjoy it for you.!

I'm all for that except for the fact that Amerigrandpa isn't a bass.

Let's do a quartet again! You're on lead again? Get Amerigrandpa to sing tenor, and I'll sing bass or baritone, whichever is needed. Adam? Aaron?

David, I thought it was because the songwriter's showcase always went long and was well attended. And I had heard somewhere that there was some kind of break at some point so that it wasn't really going to be 3-1/2 hours straight. Can't remember or find where I heard that though . . .

Well, I heard he hired another guy to sing bass, so unless something changed, he's not.

I do know who he is, btw. I found him online.

(But I'm still not telling because it's his mystery)

The internet is a valuable source of information. However, do not rely to heavily on it because it is not always accurate.

I will repeat again, who said the photo was really a photo of Amerigrandpa??????
You can take any photo and put a question mark in front of it.

Very good point, I think a number of folks have located a picture to confirm who the picture is of but that doesn't confirm that the picture is the person who is posting. Guess we'll see in Louisville.

Sure, I can sing lead. Depending on the song, and whether we have a lead and not a tenor, I can do some tenor parts.

Well I can always sing lead if you're upfor tenor and we don't find one. I'm really hoping for AmeriGrandpa though.

Santa and Qtman, great points. But I always have the caveat of suing him for Appropriation of Likeness for a commercial purpose if he isn't the guy in the pic.

But if it isn't Doyle but Doyle doesn't mind that he used it, I don't think you would win.

I think Thusday would be the best afternoon. The 2:00 - 3:00 showcases that day are Dino and BlueGrass. Thursday would be better for me.

How could I ever choose?

Hmmm...good point. How about Misrepresentation of a present material fact made with intent to induce another party's reliance, on which another party justifiably relies and is damaged?

AmeriGrandpa just confirmed that he'll try to sing tenor at the Meet-And-Greet!
