Donna is correct. If a case is an open-and-shut personal injury case (not the type of cases in which I plan on majoring, btw!), the attorney usually gets 1/3 of the judgment.

In a case that's shaky, an attorney might work on an hourly basis in order to cover himself if he loses.

I just heard that INSP was not awarded the contract from the NQC to record the convention. I have worked for INSP for past four NQC, which paid for my trip. So now I am debating whether or not to go. If I go at all it will be for a couple of days early on the week.

When INSP was there, they recorded all of the showcases on the main stage as well as the Fan Awards and Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night concerts. They brought in a staff of about twenty people. I don't remember who got the contract this year, but I was told that they are only bringing a staff of two, and they are only recording 12 hours of concerts and nothing else.

So sorry to hear about that
For your sake I pray it will work out for you to somehow be able to go the entire week
Also sorry for INSP and viewers

Seems the adversary is trying to attack several of us regarding NQC this year.....he will loose in the end, whether or not we're there....

Thank you for the prayer. I'm most likely going. I'm disappointed because I loved working there. I just don't think I will go for the whole week this year.

Wow, that's disappointing! INSP brought so much professionalism to the event!

I'm trying to work it out to go...if I go it will be the later half...thurs.-sat.
I'm sorry INSP wasn't awarded the contract. I liked their broadcast of the convention and so forth.

Wait a second - how do we know it's not Stewart Varnado?

Or he could be David Eden who writes for Singing News...I wouldn't put anything past that guy!

That's really a shame. I know that several groups were able to put out DVD's by combining their various performances at NQC and that was great for fans that weren't able to attend NQC.

Could this be a move to sell more internet connections? Seems like that went over last year and without any tv coverage they could sell more.

...but they have to have someone taping it to have live streams, right?

In the past The Broadcast Group has done all the taping and camera work. I believe INSP just hooked into the system from them.

OK. So they'll still be doing all the taping and camera work?

I don't know for sure what will be going on this year. It's always a question as to what NQC is doing and what their thoughts are other than $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Would very probably depend on how good the attorney for the opposing side was!

True.

But if Amerigrandpa's attorney could demonstrate that you were going to be at NQC anyhow...

Wouldn't make much difference - if I went to the Meet-And-Greet especially to meet him.

Well, if his attorney could demonstrate you were already going to go to the building for the showcases, vendors, evening concerts etc., I guess all the damages you could sue for would be your sweat and exertion of energy to walk over to the part of the building where we'll be doing the Meet-N-Greet.

You mean it's gonna take energy and exertion?????

Count me out. Y'all know where to find me. (I'm sure I'm just kidding!)

Tyler, the sad thing is you'd probably win your lawsuit. The Stewart Varnado theory is interesting. He doesn't quite fit the "grandpa" image though unless that is thrown in to really get us off track.

Thanks for the vote of confidence (not like I'd actually raise it - whether or not I thought I'd win - I'm a law student with a conscience).

Someone fill me in since I've been totally out of the loop lately: Are we still meeting on Friday of NQC?

I think most of you are meeting Thursday afternoon around 3:30/4.

Since I'll be on my way home at that point, I'm hoping to meet as many of you as possible at 11:30 or so before the Gaither showcase. That will be my last event before heading home.

Where is the 3:30/4 meeting taking place?

(I'm lazy. I haven't scanned previous posts!)

Yes. I was hoping to stay all week, but my car has been acting up badly enough that I can't trust it to make the trip. I have a local friend who's going Monday evening-Thursday morning and said I could ride with them.

If I knew someone else from the area who was going back Saturday, I suppose I could still switch plans and ride back with them. But for now it looks like those will be the times I can be there.

My plans for entire NQC fell thru due to "circumstances beyond our control", but at least it all came to light in time to get ticket refund, so that was a plus

Since I live only about 60 miles from Louisville, the secondary plan was to go Thursday only.
That was squashed yesterday due to family obligations must take priority.
That ticket will also be taken by someone else, so not going to waste & I know she will be Blessed...perhaps she needs to be there more than I...

Guess I'm just not supposed to be there.

Y'all have fun and know on 9/11 around 3:30 while in a conference with family in a doctor's office I will be thinking of who all I would have gotten to meet & please think of me for a moment.

I don't remember a place being set for the meeting. A good place would be the area where they sell tickets for next year.
