Mrmusicfan -> Random Question concerning past group.. (7/16/2008 11:38:30 PM)

I know I hardly ever login to the forums...and pretty much the only time I do is to ask a question..so here's one for the Southern Gospel fans from the late '90s. I was listening to the NQC Live! 1999 cd last night and came across a song from a group I've never heard of. They are New Harmony and their song was "Standing in the Shadow." The picture inside the cd booklet showed them as one male and two females. I would like to know who they are/were and if they were the same group that appeared on the NQC Live! 2000 cd as the Brainards...thanks for any info..

OH, i was thinking New Harmony was the trio that John Darrin Rowsey had before he joined Karen Peck and New River. Maybe i'm mistaken.

That was New Journey.

New Harmony is Jonathan and Ginger Bonds. They are a duet now, so I don't know who the other female would have been. David and Laurie Brainard sang with their son as the Brainards. They moved to Arizona a few years ago and are out of the business.

I thought Tanner was YH's pianist. Did he also sing?

Pianist and bass player only sang back up on a couple of songs the last time I saw them (Nov 2007)

The group you are speaking of is the same group. New Harmony consisted of Brainard, his wife and mother in law (I believe songwriter Jean Canter). New Harmony became (name change) the Brainards that consisted of Brainard, his son and another young lady.
