Of course we wouldn't. Why would God make a non believer burn for eternity? I was thinking about that today and it hit me. I wouldn't send my kids to hell for any reason. Why would God do this? He is love. Maybe he just said that in the bible so we would live a good life for him. What about all the thousands of non believers who have died, seen the light, felt the peace and love and were met by loved ones that had passed away? Hell just sucks! only the most evil should go there. I truly believe there's a hell but I hate that the nice cute little old lady down the street is going to burn because shes a non believer or was taught from a early age about a different God or religion

None of us are good enough to get there on our own.

God doesn't send anyone to hell. If you had a child that you loved completely and unreservedly and you offered him $1,000,000 and he chose to walk away from it, does that change your love for him? Does that change your desire to give him the $1,000,000? You can't force him to take it. You can provide him with every opportunity to take it but if he chooses to live in squalor and not accept your most generous gift, you can't force him to. Did YOU send him to live in squalor? God provides all mankind the opportunity to go to heaven. He paid the price and continues to offer it freely. But He loves us too much to force us into receiving it. He wants us to choose it.

I agree with what the others have said. God does not want anyone to go to hell. John 3:16 tells of his wishes. "For God so Lovef the world he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believed in him should not perish but have everlasting life." God gave his own son as a ultimate sacrifice so we would not have to go to hell. However he gave us a free will to pick the path we would follow. If anyone goes to hell, and many will, it is their own choice not God's.

I also agree with ALL the posters so far. It's like a parent of a convicted felon ... and the parent happens to be both the judge ... and the lawyer defending the one who has been found guilty ... the parent offers to take the punishment for the him/her ... but he/she must accept the gift or reject it. If he or she says, "no, I think I can get through it my way," well, he/she goes to prison. So God the Father is not sending any of His children to hell ... He gives each an opportunity to be accept His gift of taking the punishment for that child ... but if the child refuses, it is that child's choice to refuse.

I don't know what Bible you read out of. But God gives us a choice in what we choose. He's knocking at your heart, wanting to come in. All human beings are evil. I'm evil. We're all bad people. But since Jesus died on the cross for us, he offers us His life so that we can spend eternity with him. It is up to us now to accept that love and to bring him in our lives. I believe that God doesn't send babies to hell. Or little children. It doesn't say it in the Bible, but it's just an opinion. But how are you not evil? Have you kept ALL the commandments? The ten commandments? If you haven't, you are evil. I don't like that word...I like "sinner". We are ALL sinners. We are ALL destined to go to hell. But like I said, Jesus died for us. But its up to US to take that love. And of course, we don't want any kids to go to hell. I'm not a parent yet, but if I was, I wouldn't want my children to go to hell. But don't pretend it's not there. Don't pretend no one's going to go there. Because matter of fact, people ARE. Many people are going to hell, just as many people are going to go to heaven. But only Christians will go to heaven. "I am the Way, the Truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me." We can only get to heaven if we have Jesus in our lives.

He gave His Son so that nobody would have to go. If we're truly that concerned with the fate of those that never hear the truth, what are we doing to share that truth with them?

From the way I understand it ............ if there is anyone to blame for one being sent to HELL ........... it will be that person - God only gives us the choice- *"WE"* made in regards to either or. God is not the blame, Satan is not the blame, And nobody else ........ But ....... YOU Clear enough? -charles

While nobody else can blame me for them not making the decision to become a Christian, I should hold myself accountable if I don't share the gospel. And we as Christians should be accountable when we don't share that good news.

It is stated in the bible only twice in one little epistle of John and yet it is the only thing most will quote out of the Bible. It amazes me. The word used in Hebrew which we translate as God over a thousand times says clearly that God is judges not love JUDGEs. The entirety of the Bible speaks of God being Just yet everybody just remembers the two times it says God is Love in one letter. Your statement is also wrong in not all are His children read it those who believe in Jesus are given right to become His children by adoption so we are not all His children. Premise is wrong. God has every right as Soveriegn to decide who will spend eternity with Him. So if He decides that a person that has no desire to spend time with Him in this life should not have to spend eternity with Him He is just and right and loving.

Of course I wouldn't send my children to hell. I wouldn't send them to a strip club either and would teach them not to go to places like that, BUT I also couldn't keep them from going there if they just insisted on rebelling against the training I gave them. I wouldn't give them a rattlesnake to play with either. I'd also teach them to stay away from snakes and warn them what would happen if they played with rattlesnakes. That doesn't mean they won't find one and play with it and be willing to take that chance just to satisfy their own wants. We are God's children and He loves us very much. He has given us all the instruction He possibly can. It is up to us whether to heed His instruction, or to follow after things that glitter and look good, even when we KNOW those things are wrong. God doesn't send ANYONE to hell. But He also won't FORCE someone to obey Him if they don't want to. Thus we CAN send OURSELVES to hell through our disobedience. God loved us so much that even when He seen we were disobedient and chose sin, He gave His only begotten son to die for our sins and give us redemption after we failed. What more can He do? You can love your children with all your heart, even give your life to spare them from destruction, but ultimately the decision is theirs whether or not they are going to heed your instruction and be spared. If I go to hell, it is not God's fault. He has made every effort to keep me from going there. If I end up there, I have no one to blame but myself, and my own disobedience. I would hope I'm smart enough to stay on the straight and narrow path to heaven, but ultimately no one will make that choice for me except ME. We can't reason it away with pretty thoughts of "well, God wouldn't let me go to hell". We are accountable for our own actions and for everything we do, there is a reward. Good or Bad.

This is to those that get so upset at the concept of God "sending people to hell"... What are we doing (not only as a church, but individually) to share the gospel with people? If we're not sharing the gospel with people that we believe are not saved, that's the equivalent of watching a drowning person and not doing anything to save them IMO...

That's exactly why Christ commanded us to go into all the world and preach the gospel of Christ to others. We have forgotten the great commission to day, at least in a large part and have somewhat totally written off those who are not Christians as those God can't save them anyway. Shame on us! Who have WE sent to hell by not sharing the hope of salvations message with them?

TO THOSE PEOPLE I SAY "if you have heard the gospel YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE!" if a sinner wants to not to go hell, then get saved! ((i know I'm not totally being doctrinnally correct, I know that God has to call you first, but still, dont complain about God if He is offering the person salvation))

Yeah. God doesn't send people to hell. He doesn't go, "Oh, you there, go burn in hell." I agree with armydude. I have to share the gospel to people. It's part of the responsibilities God gave me. [sm=Brazil.gif]

For all intents and purposes we would have looked at Judas and said he was a born-again believer, part of Jesus' inner circle. But Jesus said otherwise. I recommend you get into the Word and get the Word into you. Your questions are good, but are soaked in modern day humanism.

Take a look at the website I included in my signature. It explains what you are asking. The important thing to remember is that if you are not a Christian you are not a child of God, but rather a child of the devil. (Or a child or wrath) Only those who repent of their sins and put their trust in Jesus Christ as their savior are considered Children of God ... and no ... he wouldn't send you to hell in that case.
