I have always heard rumors that John was having conversations with David Wilkerson near the end. Only God knows what John did with that info, hopefully the right thing.

Just wait until Death Magnetic is released, people.
Anyhow, I would have to say Dimebag Darrel. Although it'd be interesting to see Hendrix playing a gig on PBS like so many other bands from that era I've seen on there. But I'd much rather use all the "bringing back a dead rock star energy" to keep Dave Mustaine alive and playing forever instead.

Maybe "Death Magnetic" will be different. If Metallica wants to retain their Metallicult and sell their Metallistuff and rake in more Metallibucks it had better be. Although I personally liked "St. Anger" the market won't withstand another critical disaster like that.
BTW: liking St. Anger, it helped that I've never been a big Metallifan and so didn't judge it on the basis of "Master of Puppets" is perfect and any new Metallica CD is rated on how it conforms, why still being different, to that. Just check the reviews of "St. Anger" on Amazon. One big "this ain't "Master of Puppets" protest. I know many Metallica fans are more open minded than that but still.
Nonetheless, no matter what Death Magnetic sounds like it can't change the 15 years that preceded it. 15 years that may have been much different had Burton not died.

That's allpeople ever say about anything since Master Of Puppets. You never heard "this ain't Justice" or "this ain't Ride". Master Of Puppets is great to me, but to me Ride The Lighting is the best ever, followed by Justice, then Kill 'em all. Yeah, maybe if Cliff didn't die then thing smight have been different. Who knows. And so Metallica sold out in the 90's. I'm just sick of hearing everytime "Metallica? Aww, they ahven't done anything good since Master Of Puppets!" I'm confident Death Magnetic will shut people up. And if it doesn't, well they can just stay stuck in the Puppets era.

Aaron Benner who was with Dimebag when he was shot became a Christian and has got a band named "This Fires Embrace". They had an article about in in the latest HM magazine (print, haven't checked online). I've been searching to check them out. If anyone has a link, please tell me.
Dave Mustaine playing forever? Since he's now a Christian he'll get a chance to do that in a venue I hope to get a ticket to as well!
